Well, as some of you know, I've had my big green King Krush, Valak, for some time now. I have learned a lot about him and wanted to share a few thoughts about this big monster with you all <3
First off--I spent aaages trying to find a PvP pet for me. I tried Wasps, Bats (80 focus special? really?), Ravagers, Hyenas, Tallstriders, Core Hounds, Chimaeras (still have mine!), Serpents, etc. I found myself, however, tending to pull out Valak for both world PvP and battlegrounds. I would say, "I'll bring the dinosaur" (his affectionate, accurate nickname) "for this AB, and then I'll try the hyena instead"... but it never really happened. I had a spirit beast, wolf for raiding, chimaera (excellent for kiting, but much lower damage) etc, but always wound up pulling my massive green monster of a pet out for PvP. And he's great. He does ridiculous damage, often more than me, especially when someone is playing the LoS game. I LOVE how many enemies focus him instead of me--and fail.
Next, there's the fact that I don't have a spare stable slot for a wolf. I love wolves--my favorite animal. But with a server-first Skoll taking the place of a wolf, and Lord Lakmaeran, Grunter and Haarka in my stables currently, I needed a raiding pet. I decided to bring Valak along for this--and of course, as I'm BM raiding, it went quite well. My dps tends to be highest with a wolf, but the difference is barely noticeable, and having what amounts to a massive green icon showing you where your pet is at all times is helpful to me.
Of course, when fishing, tooling around town or just hanging out in The Crossroads, massive green dinosaur = win. Also, having him out in different lighting is great. In the goo outside Undercity, the Hillsbrad fields and the forests of Feralas, he just looks amazing. He has some serious personality--the pet comes across as dangerous but dumbly eager, like a real and relentless predator. The sounds he makes are massive fun.
Oh, and then there's the fact that in arena, we look like this:
Anyway, I just find myself constantly saying now "God I love this dinosaur!" He really makes me smile
