Those of you in beta with a tamed Loque'nahak may want to submit feedback on him. They seem to have given him the Frostsaber "yawn" idle noise. I preferred him quiet as an option apart from my blue kitty, blast it. :(

That doesn't seem like it would fit, since his combat roar is loud and echo-ey, not like a normal large cat. :(

It doesn't. And it's not just him. I went to test the ghost saber, since that kitty is near and dear to some folks' hearts. Still there and still quite tamable after the last build...but also makes the same yawn sound on the yawn idle animation.

WHAT?

No! >_<

Thanks for catching this; neither of them should have the noisy roar-yawn. :(

*goes to console her poor lil' ghost saber*

That's interesting. So, I guess they've added the yawning sound to all cat models then? I can see how it doesn't fit Loque, because he actually sounds different from other cats. But I think there've always been people who wanted that roar on all cats (until now it was only used on lions and riding cat models). So I think Blizz probably did this on request from players. But if you don't like it you should of course tell them. Maybe you can vote down those that want it ;)

Hmm, personally I'd rather prefer the lion model roar to the riding tiger one - the riding tigers have a gross slobber flying sound at the end, which totally turns me off. I would hate to have my dear Ghost Saber do that. >.<

The reason I don't care for it is that it removes all choice about whether or not you have a cat pet that makes noise. I like the noise okay on Daishar...but after an extended period of time, it starts to get really, really annoying. So when I knew I was going to have a pet out for an extended period of time, I could always choose one of my pets that didn't make an idle noise, to accomodate others who play with sound on as well as myself. Now, nobody has any choice about it. At all. And Loque'nahak isn't even a cat. He's a Spirit Beast. Hence the reason why only beast masters can tame him and you have to camp him for weeks if not months on end to get him.

I would not have minded if they added the sound effect to some, but not all, other cat skins. That encourages choice. It doesn't remove choice like this across-the-board change does.

I suppose I'm one of the few that like it. ^^; (I'm strange and am really fond of vocal pets, like crocolisks) But I completely understand those of you who don't prefer it and would rather keep the choice.

Maybe Blizz is just trying to get them to be more like real life cats.
But I agree in that it probably wouldn't sound right since Loque has such a deep throaty sounding roar as it is when attacking which I love.

I'm curious now if Dishu and those other cat models also perform this since Ghost Saber does.

On a related note, do more wolves bark and howl?

I like it on Jambalaya (*snuggles lion*), but I would HATE it on Atalanta. I agree with Tahlian; it should remain our choice.

I would rather them update the old world cat models instead of giving them vocalizations. They look so very outdated compared to the riding tiger models.

At least fix the graphical error that their teeth have.

Yay I can now sit in Dala and annoy more people with my pets idle sounds! Just like I used to on my saber mounts >_<

Sorry..I was being sarcastic..silly Blizz.

NOOOOO....

I hate that sound to no end; sounds like something with big wet slobbery lips and an idly flapping cow tongue, standing in a puddle of drool... about as uncatlike as you can get. Ugh. That's the reason I never tamed one of the riding model cats, and if they do this to poor loque I will have to find some way of disabling the sound from my addons - no way am I putting up with that.

Hmmm... well since cats apparently are inheriting the saint bernard's yawn, how about giving wolves and dogs a purring sound? Fair's fair.

I have seen some speculation that this is a bug of some fashion, possibly connected to the constant "snorting" or "sniffing" noise the Worgen now make...which is, apparently, incredibly annoying in and of itself. Either way, bug or intended, let 'em know it's not appreciated, and maybe they'll put things back the way they were.

Sound & Voice > Sound > Enable Pet Sounds

I've noticed toggling this on or off - unchecked meaning off I'd assume? I still can hear the idle yawn sounds & attacks even on live.

no! What have they done to loq! I love that cat. If I had to pick one pet of all my pets I would keep him.
