Do we need 51 points to tame the lv 16 rare fox ashtail ?

First of all, you only need the 51 points BM specc to tame exotic pets, not rares.
Are foxes exotics?

Second, the foxes will come in Cataclysm. The talent trees will have a complete makeover then. Or maybe the "exotics for BM only" will go away...

No one knows for sure.

I don't think foxes are Exotic, so you'll be able to tame them at any level/spec/talent.

Foxes arn't exotics. It'll be 31 points in Cataclysm to get Beast Mastery talent.

I dont think they will make foxs exotic... they dont seem like the type

But you only get talent points every other level, meaning it's something like a level-60 talent now.

I really like that talent point for EVERY level...makes getting a new point kind of like a quick trophy.

But anyways, rares aren't rare because they're exotic, but because they've got a unique skin, or better loot, or a name. Yes, sometimes it boils down to just having a fancy name. But on the other hand, if you had a rare exotic, like a spirit beast, that would be something else entirely.

Just remember that everyone can tame a rare, but only BM can tame an exotic rare.

You need to be level 69 before you'd get the required points to get Beast Mastery.
The total amount of talent points available has been reduced, along with the talents available to you.

I like how this thread is off talking about exotics and the requirements to tame them when there's been no indication whatsoever that foxes are going to be exotic pets.

Well I've already stated that foxes arn't exotic. However I just can't let incorrect/confused information go by 'unresponded' to!
