This cat is actually a quest mob for the quest "Winna's Kitten."

I remember the horde quest that takes a kitten and turns it into that.. but that was never tameable back then..

So how did you get this pet in the current build?
Winna Hazzard appears to be an untargetable "hostile" character at Bloodvenom Post. Looks like her experiments pre-Cataclysm have become fatal for the horde in the area. I've not gone there as a horde character to see if she offers quests still.

I can't see any green/orange Tiger's in the area that character is currently positioned. Only lots and lots of wasps.

Its from an alliance/horde quest. You get the quest from the sick Tauren right outside Bloodvenom Post. Or maybe it was from the dryad beside him, either way grab both of the quests they give. The cat is actually outside of the quest area. Go up the path and hes to the left in sort of a ruiny looking area. I doubt you need to be on the quest to tame him though.

Ooo, the green kitty is now tameable. I'd like that kitty.

I named mine Marmalade
Just to confirm - it's there outside of having the quest.

Wish I'd flown over that location before going everywhere else in the zone first mind...!
