What sort of error messages do hunters get when they don't have enough focus to do something on the beta? Is there a new "I don't have enough focus" message or is it the old "I don't have enough energy" one? And how does that work for Draenei, who could never use energy before?

Mine says nothing currently, just makes a whooshing noise of a canceled spell, with the error message on screen saying 'Not enough focus'. I guess the audible part hasnt been done yet.

I'm not in the beta, but I could easily imagine something like this (Horde side):

Blood Elf:
Would you stop that?! I'm trying to focus here!

Orc:
Not focused. Fool.

Troll:
You be distracting me mon, I'm trying to focus here.

Tauren:
Ssssh, the hunt requires focus.

Undead:
Quiet! I need to focus so I don't get my bones caught in the bow string! Again.

Goblin:
Oooh look at that, the knob goes up to 14 now! Wait, I was meant to be shooting...

Ha, that's what I figured. It'll probably be a last minute thing.

That sound of thing would be fun, Anyia.

Those sounds are amusing, but I think they would get annoying after a bit, but definitely lol-worthy! :P

Wait, you mean you play with error speech enabled?!
I disabled that within hours of rolling my first main in classic! And that was before I started binding abilities to the mouse wheel - don't want to think about what it'd sound like these days!

Some error speech I have enabled, yes. I disabled most trough the gamefiles, tough.

I didn't know people turned it off. I don't even notice it really

I should think if they're in a hurry, they may just attach the default "I can't do that yet" to the "Not enough focus" error message. Or they might actually go back and record "Not enough focus" for all the races. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
