I've got an ether saga character too. My favorite pet is my Imp. I also got the imp transformation.

I don't really play any other console/computer games that involve pets, though I will admit that I've always been addicted to virtual pet sites. x3

I was in love with Neopets back when I was 13. It still holds a lot of nostalgia for me thinking back. I've always been fond of any sort of site or game that involves taking care of a pet, I'm such a nerd like that. xD

I know another game called Guild Wars, i played it before WoW. there was a class was almost the same as Hunter, just called "Ranger" and they also tamed beasts(taming took only 10secs and you could tame beasts which are 4lvls above you) i had all of the pets on this game except 1 >.< (you had to buy a private "zoo" on it and there you could stable all of your pets).

I will put pics later, will take a while to get all patches i missed :S

Warhammer online has two pet classes, kinda. Neither one let's you tame them, they just kinda come with it.

One's a White Lion (name of the class I think). You get... well a white lion pet. He does some stuff. I think.

There's also the Slig Herder. You get a two legged mouth wrapped in pink flesh. You actually summon different kinds (kinda like warlock demons). Except you'll actually use the different ones here. I think. Maybe.

I only tried Warhammer briefly, but my white lion kept changing his look every time I summoned him, which obviously meant that I had an infinite herd of white lions at my disposal which I kept getting killed. This made me feel bad. (I think I made it to level 3. Also, it was buggy as sin -- at least then. I don't know about now.)

In Champions Online I briefly played a character who summoned wolves. Their animations were painful to me. (I made it to level 12. And again, the game was buggy as sin at that time.)

I tried a loremaster in LOTRO. They get a small bird at first, then later a bear and presumably other things after that. So far as I understood, this works akin to a WoW warlock in that each animal had different verbs. At the time I played, the pets were not terribly effective and the loremaster itself was incredibly fragile -- which given my playstyle spelled disaster. (Level 9. Not buggy as sin, but I have a grudge against Turbine.)

In EQ2 I tried both summoner classes: Conjuror (good) and Necromancer (evil). Conjurors weren't too bad -- a little fragile, but not as bad as LOTRO loremasters. But their best-looking pet by far was the very first one, a lovely beetle, and it stopped increasing in power at level 10. After that, you would never summon it again. And the other pets were hideous. The necromancer had more interesting pets to look at -- at least their hideousness was by design -- but was just enough more fragile to really make things difficult for me. (Level 16. Not technically buggy, but the polish level was so inconsistent ... And class balance changed significantly every two weeks when I was playing. I wish I was exaggerating.)

I am a very picky pet person.

I play EVE online a bit on the side of WoW, and since I'm Gallente I fight with droneboats. Which is basically a large ship with weak firepower, but with large amounts of "fighters" (Drones) that together do quite a bit of damage.

I dontthink they classify as pets tough...

I've never tried any other MMORPG... I remember I downloaded the trial for Guild Wars and hated it. xD I did, however, used to use Neopets waaay back when (I loved my striped Skeith) and the PC game Dogz even further back.

I play Guild Wars on the side. I enjoy the fact that you can have 1 character with 2 classes. I play a Necromancer/Ranger so i can raise a undead army and tame wild beasts as pets. I have the best pets ever <.<

yeah these are cool pets, Black Widow is hard to get(goes from underworld, need a run to get it) the black moa is after a long, boring, chain quest. i also use a Moss Spider(a beast was extended and can get only from eggs cost tons of cash) just for showing off . My main usuall pets are Aggressive(kind of pet does more DPS and got less health). i use black moa the most, looks cool near my Warrior.(imagine a Human DK, without glowing eyes, thats my character).
There is also the Phoenix, i must say i was sad to know there are none Phoenixes in WoW.
There are two kinds of Phoenixes: One is green and a bit blue and red, and it goes from one of the End Games. i got that one, i think its kinda ugly .

The other one called Rainbow Phoenix its a huge phoenix which is white, and a bit red(i dont remember exacly)i didnt got it, its the hardest pet to get on the game.
