Veph's Graphics [CLOSED]

I thought I'd make a little topic for this. ^^
I really enjoy putting together graphic sets such as signatures and avatars.
I can't do animations (check with Karathyriel or Saturo for those types of things), and I don't draw the pictures myself, however if you had some images or an idea for a forum set I'd be happy to make it for you.
Just provide me with the pictures and anything else you'd like (such as text, colours, etc) and I can create something for you. If you're not really sure what you want, or if you just had a general theme in mind, you could leave it up to me and I could see what I come up with.

Ooo. I'd be interested in a siggy pic with my lil troll and her prairie wolf.
Here's her armory: http://
www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r ... ry&cn=Uloo
For text I'd like their names: Uloo (Troll), Taboo (Wolf).
I kinda like the tan and green colors too. Other than that, feel free to use you're creative license!
I'm borrowing a free avatar, atm, but if you get an idea for that, go ahead.

Here's what I came up with for you, Jaekira.

Unfortunately the signature suffered a tiny bit of quality loss when I added the transparency.

If you wanted one without the transparent background I could give you that instead, only there'd be a white border around it. I fiddled with an avatar as well, so you can use that if you like it. Let me know if you want something different.
Please save to your own image hosting as I'll delete these from mine afterwards. ^^
EDIT:
This is the 'raw' signature, without transparency:

SQUEE! Thanks Veph! <3<3<3
I can't really even tell on the original that there was "quality loss"!
Those are just perfect for my bebe hunter! You are very talented!

I'm glad you like them. ^^ I've always enjoyed making parts of signatures go outside of the box, but in return I have to deal with the quality decrease of a transparent background.
I suppose it isn't too bad, the WoW models just have a lot of colour information in them so when I add a transparent background it likes to simplify the palette. >< I'll see if I can work out how to reduce that, and if so I'll give you a better version of your signature image.

Oh, I don't know that one.
With Photoshop, I could have told you how to get rid of white borders or the quality loss.

Yeah. I mean, I've been making transparent backgrounds for years, but I find that with WoW models in particular there's just a noticeable loss in quality compared to other images I've made.
There must be a way to avoid that, as I've seen others use transparency on WoW images and they look fine. Hopefully I can figure it out. ^^

Try searching around in the save menu for the amount of colors. I believe 256 is the maximum for gifs, which is why you can never avoid the grain in the sigs. When I made my current sig I specifically looked for a set that is overall simple in colours, which meant that I had to get Northrend gear. Yup, I didn't like outland gear due to it's many colours, but northrend gear is dark brown, dark blue, black, all the time! Here's too hoping for some colors in Cata.
Anyhow, try fidgetting around for that option, it should be in the save window. In PS there's a "Save optimized for webpages" which let's you set everything you want to set about your gif.
EDIT: Just realized something... PNGs! They can be transparent, and have no colour limit!
EDIT 2: Edited a bit late, it seems...

I save as PNGs, not GIFs since they're better overall quality.

But if you save them as PNGs I'm out of ideas...
Also, please don't notice my fail edits...

Ah! I think I got it!
After some tedious Google searching I discovered a different way of creating transparent images and it doesn't reduce quality! ^^
Jaekira, feel free to use the new one as it's much better looking.

Gorgeous signature, Veph!
Speaking of photoshop and paintshop pro, is there a program like that I can get for free? I want to play around with some things in photoshop, I haven't used it for a couple of years now.

Zangor, using the word "simple" in the same sentence as "GIMP" is impossible!
Id recommend Paint Shop. I tried it out, and it was easy and functional. If a bit unusual for me, having gotten use to Photoshop.
