So I haven't had a wind serpent at my side since the pre-BC days.. I love how they look and their animations and kinda miss having one.
I'm wondering if they're still go dps pets for BGs/Solo play. A worth while pet for surv hunters at all? What are your opinions on the family? :)

Yup, they are amongst the best DPS pets in the cunning three, and they can be specced to go BGs too. Their family spell skips armor, so it does quite a bit of damage.

It is affected by spell resistance however.

I love wind serpents, especially when they swim. I wish they were bigger and came in more colors.

I'm actually having a tough time with their colors.. I don't know which one I like the best. xD

Haha, if it's any help, I love the green and blue skins. Of course, you'd have to care about my opinion. Which dk tanks don't always do.

I vote either the blue or white skin, those are my two favorites, the white one especially. Wind Serpents seem like neat pets to me, and I leveled with one for a bit during BC, but I'm not big on flyers.

I'm probably going to go on a tour of the different colors and see which one looks best with my toon. :D

During BC, I got one of the green ones in Blade's Edge Mountains.

Named him Sparta and lordy did he stick with me all during WotLK (until I had to, sadly, abandon him to make room for my Croco-slime. )

My personal favourite is the White Outland one. :3 I had one for a little while a long time ago, but they just didn't 'click' with me for some reason.

Yeah, that white outland skin is my favourite among the Outland ones. I don't like that model tough. They're a bit too badass for me.

I like Windserpents too but like veph they don't seem to click with me like wolves,devilsaurs,worms and wasps do

Green, Blue and White (outland skin) look the best imo

Wind Serpents have always been my favourite pet. I leveled my Hunter all the way with one! She always kept aggro from me too, but I did level BM. Now that I play mostly Surv, I pull aggro off her real quick, but usually the thing is dead before it gets to me anyway. They manage well in BGs and dungeons too, because their ability is ranged and isn't effected by armour. I love watching her chase down enemy players and elite monsters alike, frying them with her zappy-breathe. XD

I have a black-and-white one from Zul'Druk,but haven't had any time to play with her,too busy doing the Love is In The Air
dailies...gah,two lovely black dresses in a row! Come on,Blizz,have a heart! (cwutididthar?..lol)

I love the wind serpents and always seem to find myself taming one no matter how many hunters I play. My personal favorite is the "vanilla" white one. Its scales seem so much brighter and prettier than the others'. The "vanilla" black one is a close second, though. I'm personally not so fond of the Outland models. They're too...spikey. Oh and I love how they swim, too!

I haven't used one in quite a while, though, so I can't say from personal experience whether they're good dps now or not. But from the comments above it sounds like they are good contenders! Crap, I may have to buy my fifth stable slot now to go get one, even if only for sentimental value.
