If you haven't visited Deadmines yet on the beta, check it out. Much of the layout is the same, but there are new quests (apparently not completely working yet) and many new NPCs. And there's a terrifying new final boss.

The first tameable pet is about halfway through the mines. The goblins there are employing monkeys to mine. The monkeys have the black skin / face and mining pick can be found in all four colour variants, and all wielding picks. The pick does still stay, making a very creepy psycho monkey pet. Monkey Shines: The nicest find, however, is that the final ship room now houses many tameable, feral parrots of two colours: The Monstrous Parrot is red with blue wings (ParrotSkinRed), the same as the old Defias Companion that was in the same room. The second, the Sunwing Squawker, is green with black and orange wings (ParrotSkinOrange), the same as Nyuni. Here's a screenshot of the two parrots in flight: And one with the monstrous parrot tamed: Then, there's a unique (but non rare, it spawns every time) tameable parrot mob called Ol' Beaky on an island in the cavern. It has grey plumage with red tail feathers, the same as the cockatiel pet. The skin is called ParrotSkinGray. Screenshots:
EDIT: There appears to be three parrot skins that are one parrot skin that is now untameable: ParrotSkinLavender, a white/purple/blue colour, the same as Skywing (friendly quest NPC in Outland), ParrotSkinWhite (used on critter parrots in Un'Goro, but the skin isn't apparent on Wowhead) andParrotSkinBrown (not on Wowhead either). SECOND EDIT: ParrotSkinLavender and ParrotSkinWhite "rare" spawns have now been reported from the same cavern as the above parrots. See later posts and pics in this thread.

Cool! Non-goblins can get the mining monkey!!! and even cooler parrots!!! Aotona might loose her place!!

The only one I'm not seeing is the Cockatiel looking one. Grey body, yellow head, red cheeks.

Ooooh, that's NOT the cockatiel as I'd previously speculated! This is actually a nicer-looking bird (than I remembered). I LIKE him! I love the concept of a retired parrot who's no longer got the bright plumage.

*begs Blizz to make Skywing's look tameable* I've always loved his skin....

I'm pretty sure it's the same as the one in this pic on Warcraftpets. Unless you mean it doesn't look like a real-life cockatiel, which it doesn't much

Thanks Wassa! You're right. I missed the white and brown ones entirely. I have been using Wowhead for my skin info. But the problem is, if the skin isn't used at all, or if it's only ever used as one of many skins that an NPC can have, then it never shows up in their database. I've just downloaded wowmodelviewer and hopefully I can use it to find more skins.

Ditto, thought the model actually looked more like a Cockateil...that looks like a grey african parrot to me.

Either way, I *really* love that look on this bird! It suits him so well. Kudos to whoever masterminded this mob.

Great finds, all of them. I'm loving these parrots! That monkey, on the other hand...looks like it's going to go on a murder spree!

I tamed Ol' Beaky. While I was in Deadmines, but I believe I also saw a white skinned parrot, (I accidently one-shotted it) in addition to the other parrots mentioned here.

If it's there, it's a rare spawn. I checked the area very thoroughly Did you happen to catch its name on its corpse?. Interesting...

I went back, didn't see it and I'll head back in again later tonight. I want to say it was Albatross, but I'm not 100% sure.

The skins are definitely random. I went back in, one last time before I headed to work, and all the parrots were Monstrous Parrots and Ol' Beaky

Actually, I should have paid closer attention. All four monkey skins (black-, white-, tan- and red-faced) are all present in the mines, in the same segment. And all are wielding picks. So all four skins are now available as pick-wielding maniac monkeys to all races. I'll edit the OP to mention this.

I really hope they don't give Aotona's colors to another beast. I like having something so unique.

The white parrot is a random spawn. I got a phone call while taming it so all I remember of the name is Albino something.
