OK, according to what I've found so far on the PTR... you'll get your 25 pet slots.
AND you'll get the old world pets (at least until Cataclysm affects it).
So in other words, it appears you'll have time to grab all those potentially affected pets before the rest of the Cataclysm content occurs. (Presumably you have from whenever patch 4.0 goes live and when Cataclysm is officially released).
For once, I'm glad I was wrong on this one! (assuming they don't change it later).

So assuming things remain as they are... Let's compose a list of pets that might be worth taming now prior to removal when "The Cataclysm" occurs!
I'll do the first.
Silithid Swarmer - Currently appears to turn into a brown worker Silithid on the beta.

Clutchmother, if you want her specifically - the skin will be in Swamp of Sorrows but she'll be gone
Timber - same deal as CM
The rare tan silithid ravager from 1k Needles (is that what you meant?)
Azzere - same deal again
Araga?
It's mainly a question of whether you want the original skin to be a rare or a regular ol' trash mob.

all zul'gurub pets they aint got any uniques there but son of hakkar = unique on it's own!

I've got no way of knowing if the ZG raid is still present in the PTR. The green raid entrance is gone completed on beta - and I have no characters high enough to get over to ZG with ease on the PTR.
