now im not sure but i think if u take a exotic pet spec it the same the exotic does just a little more damage now i dont have room in my stable for anything so i cant check but if some 1 gots a urge i beleave when u look at stats exotic does more dps (if u going to compare cat n devilsaurs take prowl then look at pet screen) can some 1 confirm this i cant rember was a while ago since i had normal pets

There not supposed to do more damage.

Far as I'm aware, Exotics are just as good as a normal pet. None do more damage than any other.

Ummm... my devilsaur does a ton more damage then my wolf does. My wolf does around 1900 my devilsaur does around 2400+ so..... ummm... yah

ok this is what u could do take a wolf take a devilsaurs look spec them THE EXACT SAME n look at them on there character screen see if 1 has higher dps then attack a dummy if u got a urge lol

Yeah, Blizz explicitly moved away from having exotics do more damage, so that BM hunters aren't forced to use exotics. I'll check when I get home.

They seem to be doing the same amount to me, tho Im interested in how much more dps (if any) a raptor does over a serpent because of skills, Ill get back to u guys later on that.

True, their abilities are stronger than that of a normal pet, but that's about it. I've heard quite a bit that a spirit beast's dps is not that great compared to, say, a cat, as opposed to how their ability is a tad bit stronger.

Ok, so I checked - me in BM spec, my pets specced the exact same.

Wolf:
damage: 681-740, dps: 554.2

Spirit beast:
damage: 681-740, dps: 554.2

So there you have it.

makes me wonder why we got bm (wishes that bm gave u 2 pets to fight with) lol the ablities not that great to be truthful we do got cooler looking pets thoe >.>

having two pets out, even at half damage each, would be HEAVEN to me but i GUESS theres pvp to consider hehe

Well, since I was in BM for both pets, their stats would be the same. Now if I was to check my wolf in MM vs. BM, I'm sure the stats would differ.

The reason exotics aren't higher dps than regular pets is because it'd pigeon-hole BM hunters, forcing them to tame and use exotics. Sometimes I like having a big red wolf or a big red tallstrider, and honestly it'd piss me off if I was unable to run with them when I wanted to maximize my dps. It needs to be the player's choice.
