pet skills into pet talents?

Anyone hear anything about whether there's more love to come for pet talent trees? The only thought with this is that a few of the pet skills we've lost in the big change were kind of useful, and would be nice as talented abilities. (Also, I mutter, some of the new pet skills would be better off as talents so they could make way for something more useful - if you want to dole out a pvp-only ability, pop it in the cunning tree and have done with it).
The most pointed lost talent is the old Crocalisk ability, which meshed nicely with thunderstomp and would make a good talented tenacity ability for any tanking pet. There are probably some others, too - the bear 3-target swipe would be another good tenacity talent.

That would be the one logical place for these abilities, under the new system. Here's hoping...

Maybe Warp could fit in instead of charge? /hope...I love watching Kael warp. 8D

Shell shield should also be a talented ability, though its very name meshes it to turtles only. >_<
And I put in that suggestion for the old warp animation to replace warp stalker charge on the PTR; maybe if enough of us mention it, Blizzard will get the idea that we REALLY miss that animation.

Does seem odd if Warp Stalkers don't Warp. Maybe they could include the blink as part of its movement slowing ability, as flavour, as I don't see them changing a generic pet skill like charge to have a special effect for just one family.

Yeah, that's an even more likely possibility. The "problem," I'm guessing, is that Blizzard wants the actual "warping" part out, since it's basically shadowstep.

I have a feeling (and a hope) that Blizzard isn't quite done with pets just yet. Some of the exotics are missing their exotic abilities - *cough*CHIMAERAS*cough* - among other things. Cross your fingers that their next move is to make some changes to the pet trees.

Lohuran, agreed. Shale Spiders, Spirit Beasts, Chimeras, Worm and Rhinos are all short either their exotic or their standard ability. Cats and Crabs (and maybe Carrion Birds) don't seem to have a normal ability implemented yet. Beetles are currently just silithids in a different hat, ditto dogs and wolves. Hopefully the next build will swap some stuff around and fill in the gaps, and hopefully Blizzard will continue to listen to hunters (as shown, I would suggest, by the sudden influx of untameable serpents in 1k Needles for real, after all that hoaxing - surely that's pure hunter love

)

Speaking of Turtles, I actually had my turtle tank most of Throne of Tides a few weeks back

Our Pally tank was brand new to Beta and didnt know the fights, so he ended up getting caught in some big hits and dying. Gogo Boris the Turtle pet to save the day, with either interchangeable "shield walls" (shell shield:50% dmg reduction, Cower: 40%) or a massive defense (combine for 90% reduction!). My turtle ended up tanking the 2nd and 3rd bosses and was used to get through the gilbin packs that can 1-shot a tank who runs in without blowing (sufficient) cooldowns.

Glad to hear turtles still rock - looks like I'll be keeping Brick!
