I had a great idea for archiology for hunters.
I think it would be great if hunters can dig up ancient hunter whistles
and with those you can call special skinns to tame.
But you will need to go to some sort of shrine maybe just to make it epic!

Could be extended to other classes too - Druids get additional skins for forms, Mages new polymorphs maybe...

I've wanted new skins for druids ever since I found out that mages could get "custom skins" for their polymorph (frog, penguin etc), e.g. have a few alternate bear skins from the hunter pet tenacity family (gorilla, rhino) and also some alternate cat skins from the ferocity family (wolf, raptor)... if they did that I just might roll one...

Warlocks could skin their demons. Example, use the OL model for their voids.

I think that's a pretty cool idea.
Also the mage/druid/warlock ones.

Maybe also shamans could get something, like another wolf model for the ghost wolf.

Unless I'm mistaken, shammies are getting minor glyphs that do exactly that.

You are not mistaken.

I have to say, any post starting something like "a great idea for Blizzard" makes my stomach sink but, in this case, I think it's a great idea. It's honestly unlikely that there would be something so class specific in archaeology, and it's hard to see how it would work - maybe temporarily change your pet appearance to another skin for that model, like a disguise buff - or maybe summon a random beast (perhaps including skins not otherwise in the game) that you could attempt to tame. However, if someone at Blizzard had the time to implement it at some point, it would be a lovely, and very sought after, little gadget.
