So, I'm sure I'm not the only one who planned the second that Cataclysm was announced that they were definitely gonna play a new-race Hunter. With Undead, Worgen, Goblin, heck Human Hunters just around the corner, I thought I poke at the community and ask: What are you planning for your Hunter come Cataclysm?

Are you going to race change your current race to a 'new' Hunter race or are you going to level a new one from scratch?

Personally, I find the choice so SUPER tough D:

See, it's always been a dream of mine to be Worgen Hunter. Man oh man I cannot WAIT for Worgen female to be in-game (in beta or on live). However, I have a huge dilemma! I LOVE my NE hunter, I've had her for 5 years. She's literally got 5 years of blood, sweat, and tears put into her. Originally I planned to race change her to Worgen when the chance came up, so that I could enjoy my collection of mounts, minipets, and feats of strength. The downside? I'd probably lose all my argent tourney stuff and my cool saber mounts in the process when I switch to worgen. DOH! (Not to mention I miss out on the awesomeness that is Gilneas leveling).

On the flip side, leveling a new Worgen Hunter sounds fun and awesome. Get to see all the new changes and zones... oh yeah~ Plus with Herilooms and new questing, it won't be so bad. Downside? I know that since I won't have my trusty pets, Odin & Heero, by my side, there's no way I'd play this new Hunter enough to make her my new main. =(

Wah.

So yeah, my plan is to figure out what to do regarding my Hunter, but while I do that: What do you guys have planned? Do tell! Feel free to add all your fun ideas and plans for your future cata hunter-experience.

And yes, this include you who want to have a Human Hunter named Adam-something with the green felwood cat named "Kringer" ;D

well I have 2 orc hunters both level 80, so one of them is becoming a human. But i plan on leveling a worgen from scratch

Will roll a baby worgen hunter on Nesingwary, and probably a goblin, but that'll be it. I'm set in my ways.

I did Recruit a Friend with my boyfriend a little while ago, and right before we started I found the Petopia website, which made me decide to roll a hunter. I wanted to roll a troll just because I love them, but I wanted to race change her to one of my rp characters - an undead hunter named Miriam. The name Miriam was taken so I went with Ashiena, who was one of my first characters on my account five years ago, a troll huntress who never got leveled passed level 4.

Well, since I've played my hunter so much, I've fallen in love with her and I will not be race changing her. I'm going to level an undead hunter and a goblin hunter, but to how far I can't say. Hopefully 60. They will probably be on Nessingwary because I don't have any room left on Winterhoof.

Raydex is too much a night elf to change. Drassil is too much the birdmage chick to change. It'll be a new race - a lock and a hunter. Also my first male toon, as Garwal oughnt be female.

My Hunter has been a Troll since level 1 and will always be a Troll. Never will his race change and I feel no particular compunction to level a new Hunter.

Besides, over the past week and a half I've been doing the Netherwing dailies, and I have Deathbringer's Will, so daily I get to be a Troll, Tauren, Human, Dwarf and Orc. It's all a bit mad really.

I'm not really sure why I chose a belf as a hunter, but lately I have been thinking about making her a tauren (I do love them to bits). The only thing that is stopping me right now is the belf ability to restore mana, which I have grown very attached to

So once focus comes in, it's time to seriously consider making the switch. I don't think I would level a new tauren hunter to be a replacement, seeing as I already spent the time and effort (professions, Northrend rare pets, paid name change) on this one.

Instead I'll probably level a new hunter on Alliance side for a change of pace. I like the idea of having a human falconer or something on the RP server I dabble in from time to time.

WIll not change my belf or nelf hunters Elves are the only race i like hehe

BE hunter now. Since my wife is BE rogue (and damned sexy) I will probably stick with BE for now. Now, if they made UD hunters look more like Sylvannis, then.. yeah, I might roll that way. I was considering going Gobbie hunter at one point, but I haven't seen a male gobbie model I really like.

I'll make Dosequis into an orc mage on Nessingwary and kick around with it

Although I can't stand Orc politics, and Garrosh makes my main, Cerah, rather ashamed to be sharing a race with him, I'm not race changing. I like making up backstories for my characters, and Cerah's story is too intwined with her being an Orc to change it now. Not only her story, but that of her daughter, my Troll Mage Taysha, who's technically half-Orc, half-Troll.

I do have a low-level Dwarf hunter, Leata, who I was considering changing to something else, but dwarf suddenly suits her very well, with the suggestion given in another thread that she base her pets around archeology/geology. Now I have an incentive to level her as is.

Even for characters I use rarely (my Tauren Druid, pretty much all of my allies), I've grown too attached to them as they are to change them now. Any new races and new race/class combos I'm going to make in Cata will be entirely new characters. Besides, I love alts One thing Blizzard *can* do for me is increase the number of alts you can have per realm. I'm up to 8 on Alterac Mountains right now, and I don't particularily want to change realms just to have more.

My lock is most likely staying a gnome, even if I want to go Horde now that my guild is mostly dissolved. My Hunter used to be a nelf, then I changed her into a draenei, and I'm thinking of changing her to an undead when Cata comes (If I decide to keep playing, that is.). Stereo is going Undead for sure. I'm kinda' undecided on Ova, but as of now, he's not changing into a troll (Mostly because of the retarded feral forms). I have the name Combustion reserved for a Goblin Mage, but I'm not sure if I want to play it yet. I don't think I'll make any Worgen, other than to experience the newbie zone.

My Cataclysm changes are as follows:

Rolling a new Undead Hunter named Spiders. (will tame one of every spider model for her stables)
Rolling a new Troll Druid.
Turning my existing female Undead Warlock (level 43) into a male Troll Warlock named Zalazane (I have the name >:D)
Rolling a Goblin Shaman named Mecha.
Going to try a male Worgen Druid named Snarler, doubt he'll get very far though (I can never stick with Alliance characters)

It's sad that half of my realm list right now are placeholders waiting for Cataclysm.

I gotta say, I used to love tauren to death, but after having a druid for a while I got real tired of the whole "lumbering" slow running/big target deal. Its also hillarious that all of my shapeshifts are into "smaller" forms compared to his humanoid form. The speed is the same as other races, but its just "feels" slower.

Also, the "mana-back" racial is going away for BEs. Humans with Diplomacy is entirely OP and should work out great for you if you run that way.

Gotta say, you all have some pretty epic ideas

I'm also super glad I'm not alone: most of you guys have multiple Hunters as well. I wish my Hunters were on various realms, but I have a hard time leveling on realms I don't know anyone DX

That's exactly my problem. While I love Rikaku, and she fits me so well as a NE, I really don't wanna go hunting for Loque again. It took me 5 weeks in that stupid jungle, hunting everyday, to get my pet DX If I hear the music there ever again, it'll be too soon!

I'm definitely changing my rogue to a worgen. I was tempted to change my druid to a troll, but the models actually aren't that great looking on closer inspection. I'm also tempted to change my paladin to a tauren but as a blood elf he already has such a great personality and name established in my mind. And finally, I'm really tempted to change my orc hunter to an undead because that's just so cool-- but there aren't enough female orcs and waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many undead.

Heh, yeah...I'm pretty bad for that. Actually I managed to get rid of quite a few of mine. You can never have too many hunters of course, but I had to save room for other characters. ^^; I'll have 3 in total on my main realm. Vephriel, Gazini my Troll, and then Spiders.

I have quite a few alt hunters on various realms as well. Nothing serious, but I just love making hunters. xD The customization aspect of the stables and pets is what spurns me to want so many. It's so fun window shopping on Petopia and picking out the pets for each hunter, I never get sick of it. xD

Oh yeah, of alt Hunters? Jesus I probably had around near 15 of em in various levels around the realms. I deleted a few, but the others are still name holders JUST in case I decide to move. Not that I plan to but rofl YA NEVER KNOW!

I think I'll be rolling both new hunters from scratch (goblin and human) rather than changing race, since they're both going to be on servers with just one pre-existing hunter apiece and both of those are toons whose current race I'm quite happy with (plus I'm looking forward to experiencing the new content from lvl 1!)

My hunters arent changing. but I'll be making a worgen hunter for sure.
