Just for people who want pics of proof, I've got some. Again, how it works is with the ability, ALL mounts go at max possible speed. You see my ebon gryphon flies at 310%, and my nightsaber rides at 100%.

4000 gold for me, then again it was a premade, so already having max rep. So yeah, it's the 5000 gold one.

Ah ok. What rep is that?

And that makes me really excited, I didn't know it'd apply to ground mounts too! Now I'll definitely be using my black stallion and my pinto!!!! Oh, and my dawnsaber. And my gray ram!!!!!!! :D

I had full SW rep, though Dal rep works as well, I've heard. And yeah, I'm pretty pleased too. I love being able to use some of my older mounts, it'd make me feel less guilty...

The main thing for me is that I have all these lovely flyers - the netherdrakes, the nether rays, several of the northrend drakes and proto-drakes - and feel dumb using them because I have faster... :| I'll be glad to be able to use them all at 310%. :)

Woot! This is amazing! I didn't know the fast flying applied to ground AND air mounts! This is a great change, hopefully it stays this way. I'll have so many more mounts to choose from!

Since my warrior already has a 310 flyer, will he automatically get the fast flight? That's what I've heard but I have not talked to anyone in beta to confirm. If it is true, does it apply to the ground mounts too?

Eee this is exciting xD

That's what I've been told, Gumballs.

Yup, from what I understand people who already own a 310 flyer will automatically have that speed on all of their flying mounts. Players without a 310 flyer can buy the speed for 5k I think. Essentially it's available for everyone, but if you already have it then it's free for you.

Yay! i missed my lowbie sabers...

And actually Veph, I've heard much different. All 310% fliers I've heard are getting knocked down unless you got the flying.

Where did you read that? I'd like to see the source, if you don't mind. I'm just asking because the general reports I've seen from beta was that you were automatically upgraded, and I think I even recall seeing a blue post to that effect. I'll dig around some.

Edit: Here we go. I don't know how to link directly to a post, but it's post #45 about 1/3 down the page:
It certainly is happening, but it will only be purchasable by characters who are level 85. Players who already own a 310% mount will be 'gifted' the training, and it goes without saying that once the skill is learned all flying mounts will become 310% mounts. That's the current plan at least, and we don't plan on offering any further speed increases to these mounts.
Granted, it's from May, but I haven't heard anything to contradict it, and certainly nothing to say that 310% mounts players already have will be nerfed. ... Can you imagine the outrage?

i could do some searching but I read it on a site and heard it from some guildies.

Personally, I'd find that more fair as well since 310% mounts are hard to obtain as is and the majority of players don't have them. Blizzard is trying to make things more fair so I'd imagine this being a direction they will go in if not at the last minute.

Doesn't matter to me which way they go. People really can't whine about it since you'll get 310% flying one way or another.

Ooooh no, I guarantee I'll whine. I don't really mind if I have to buy it to have all my mounts be 310%, since that's what everyone else has to do... but if they nerf the one I have??? I worked damn hard for those!

Well, there's no sense in worrying about it. It's simply bad business sense to take away something you've already given to people, and if there's one thing I've learned it's that Blizz have a keen sense of what might hurt their business. Granted, sometimes the sense only sets in very late *coughrealidontheforumscough* but they retracted, redacted, and just generally went into damage-control mode, so...

I would be so mad if that happened. I havnt heard anything like this at all and I hope whatever you read was spreading bad rumours.

By keen sense you mean a very dim sense, right? XD

If it was a dim sense, they'd've forced this crap on us anyway and pissed off a lot of people unnecessarily.

I'm trying to think of another company in the service industry that reacts to customer reactions as fast and as consistently as Blizzard. I can't think of any. Doesn't mean they're perfect, of course not, but they're definitely more finely attuned to their customers' desires than most corporations.

If that were true, then Gezzrak would be tameable already.

I can mention several, they are, however, indie games, with around four developers and around a hundred to two hundred players. Blizz are definitely the biggest company to do something like that, but not the only one, nor the fastest.
