Yeah, that's always bothered me too. =/ I mean, it's their own fantasy world and they can name their beasts what they want, but a Wyvern in all traditional mythology is usually a Dragon type of creature. The Warcraft wyverns are more manticores/chimeras than anything else. (and their scorpion tails are on backwards! It bugs me! ><)

Well, not quite...

/smart-ass mode on

A Manticore has:

• a lion's body (check)
• a bat's wings (check)
• a scorpion's tail (Oh well...check)
• a human's face (failed)

So you see, it's very close but not really a Manticore.

And, like Vephriel said, it's their world and the do what they want.
I only wonder if they know about the tail being attached the wrong way...

Though you have to admit, their faces are pretty fugly....xD Perhaps it was a failed attempt on looking slightly humanesque.

I thought that was because they attack with their tails downward, not from above... like the tail strikes under them as they fly down on their prey.

That would make me think that they have to mount their prey before...
