Ok so this is based on another thread.

Right now, I'm looking for someone who is on the 4.0 PTR. I want to know that if you go to Everlook (Winterspring) if the Tauren Questgiver who gave the Ursius and Shy-Rotam quest is available on the PTR.

Furthermore, if he is/isn't, could you check and see if you can go to Frostsaber Rock and if Shy-Rotam is there?


The story/reason:
On the Beta the NPC questgiver for Shy-rotam is MIA. She is flagged as a quest mob, but despite numerous attempts, I cannot get her to spawn her white lion mate, Sian-Rotam.

I am curious if this change will happen when 4.0 launches OR if it's a Cataclysm only thing. Any info is appreciated.

Storm Shadowhoof is still present on the PTR. I've completed the quest, so I can't check that part. Riding by Frostsaber Rock, there's no sign of Shy-Rotam.

So it looks like that change is coming later.

As a side note (and a totally unrelated one), Rak'Shiri spawned sometime after I got out there and I saw her as I was leaving. I've never seen her before in the wild. (Of course I tamed her.) I consider this a positive sign of some kind.

(I also saw Shadowclaw while I was running around in Darkshore - I don't remember seeing him before either, though I might be mistaken with him. Tonight is Cat Night! )

I'll try, I kept it for when allies couldnt get the quest good way to make money on an ally toon

I just finished poking around on the beta (I know this is a ptr request, buuut I have some interesting info regarding this.) First of all, the Shy-Rotam quest is now given by another questgiver, a goblin inbetween everlook and the frostsaber rock. It's the final part of a small quest chain that boils down to you killing a lot of frostsabers.

Second, Shy-Rotam will still do her "summons her mate" emote during the fight. I doubt Blizz would keep that in if they were removing her completely, it's more than likely that Siam is still bugged D:. I was, alas, unable to summon him during my few attempts. I would like to try again on my transfered main toon... But she's currently out of action due to beta being buggy as all hell.

I am pretty sure its still bugged. Even on live I couldnt get her to summon her mate and I tried everything! So I dont know.. you can let them know that the quest is still bugged and maybe that'll fix it.

Either way, I'm gonna get my white lion now. I don't trust Blizzard.

I'm really tempted to say adeu to arcturis and go fetch this beauty... Damn Blizz for being it's usual self.

Yeah normally I wouldn't worry but uhh... lets say Blizzard & The Ghost Wolves leave me thinking they really won't care that much.

Hehe Aye.. a guild mate of mine has the ghost wolf and I still think it's one of the coolest pets in the game. /cry I hate getting rid of rare pets... a little more time trying to see if TLPD will spawn for me and then I'll head over and see if I can get lucky....

Well I couldn't resist the urge any longer and decided to head over to Winterspring and just see what I could find. Well within 5 minutes my eyes fell upon the beauty that is Rak'shiri. I was originally considering replacing Skoll, but I'm just to attached to him so I had to part ways with my tank Furby. He will be missed and on the list for retaming once cata comes out.

I just did that quest on the PTR, and she doesnt summon him she does the emote but he never comes, and yes I've tried a few times, close, far, on the stone, all with super slow "get my knuckle sandwich while doing this dam quest" thing guess I'll have to get him after Cata comes out, unless they fix this, just made a "fix this" ticket

Thank you! I'm totally over the moon with him (I am right in that eh???)... His sounds and looks, just perfect. Two awesome pets in 2 days! Roll on Cata is all I can say. (to any hunter to Twisting Nether, I apologise to you now.. I'm hunting Loque for Frostbitten, the last mob for the entire achivement... forgive me pls)

I went into to Icecrown to start leveling him up and walk right into another rare, High Lord Jorfus...

Firstly, apologies for seemingly missing the whole point of the OP ! I blame it serial insomnia and a bunch of other things.. Anyway, I decided to head back over and test out on the Live server if indeed the quest was bugged for me. Thankfully it wasn't, although I didn't have to FD when I took her to 147 health as she had at that point not called for her mate. I immediately started attacking her again (brew feast mug came in very handy) and with 2 hits i'd done enough damage to cause her to call her mate and out he popped.



I abandoned the quest and went back to town to collect it, ready for Cata
