Though the little ravasaur trailing behind me isn't my pet, seeing that reminded me off the good ol' days when hunter pets loyaly ran beside us when we were mounted.

At least you can 'trick' the game into letting your pet be beside you. ^^ Just queue up for a Random Dungeon or a Battleground while mounted, and when you leave it make sure your pet is beside you. When you zone back to where you were before, you'll be back on your mount with your pet out at the same time.

I totally read this thread's title as "Auction House The Memories."

Yeah, it was nice when pets ran beside you.

The only memories I have of the Auction House is NE's dancing behind the auctioneer.

The best AH memory I have is buying out a firefly minipet for only 3 gold... I was gloating over that for DAYS.

*ahem* but on topic... I think the pet glitching to display beside your mount is mostly random (after exiting a BG/dungeon).

It's pretty much guaranteed for me, especially after leaving a dungeon.

But then, I'm queuing while mounted in Dalaran, so there isn't much chance for inconsistency.

Huh, never had a problem with it not working for me... Some of my favorite screen shots are of my pets next to me while mounted.

Okay , It didn't work the first time I tried it but it did the second.
