100 Mounts, with more and more coming in the game with each expansion, does anyone know about how many more will be included in the next expansion? I know goblins, and camels, and some other random ones, but is there anything like Kurenai or Maghar or Netherwing or something like that that would open up more mounts?

Are Alliance players going to be screwed out of 7-9 or whatever it is if the Worgen do not have any class mounts?

I would only really go for this achievement on my horde Pally so i really dont care about the inbalance, just curious mostly.

I sincerely doubt Blizz will be screwing over Alliance... Though I'm afraid we'll end up just having more horses and cats.

The camels are from a faction grind, there are at least two from archeology, alchemy will have its own mount, and then there are a few others, like the four dragons of the winds (I know one's a rep grind and one is from the Cataclysm Raider achievement).

It's going to be way easier because there will be more mounts haha. I'm just going to take pride in the fact I got Over 100 during wrath, and look forward to getting the next tier of mount achievements

It's going to be so easy to do in Cataclysm, the achievement I mean. It's not really even that hard now on live.I managed to do it and the real only "rare" mount I have is Rivendare Deathcharger and the Black Battle Bear from TCG. Really if you just get all the rep mounts and pvp mounts, you should only be off by a little bit as to the last few you need. I certainly wouldn't worry about if the Worgen don't provide 6 mounts or whatever, Cataclysm literally tosses mounts at you; The sea horse is free even!

So really, it does require some work (aka Rep/PvP grind), but overall it is not a hard achievement and you should have no problem in Cataclysm achieving it.

And I doubt Blizz will screw us over, they already had a blue post from Zarhym saying that if it ends up being a problem, they'll just add more mounts.

Seahorse? I heard about this briefly, is it a water mount?

The seahorse is a water mount, increases 300% movement speed or something in the water. Its from a quest,but there are many different models of it found in the game files. Its not known yet if you will pick a color after the quest or more will be purchasable elsewhere.

It is known engineering, alchemy, achievements, guild rep, and reputations will all yield new mounts.

Engineering new mounts? DO explain... plz plz

I'm curious too, I don't recall hearing of new engineering mounts!

I'm personally hoping they will be the warthog things I saw in the concept art.
And if they ARE warthogs, I hope there's a rare drop one from a boss that horde can ride, because one of the things that is really starting to cheese me off is that Alliance has access to four of our mounts, but we only have access to two of theirs. >:/
(Ally can have a Skeletal warhorse via the Baron, a Raptor via ZG, a Kodo via Brewfest and a Hawkstrider via H MgT, while Horde only have a Tiger via ZG, a Ram via brewfest.)

Skeletal warhorse via the Baron is gone
Raptor via ZG is gone
Tiger via ZG is gone

if you want these mounts farm them now

I might be wrong on the engineering mounts, I just assumed the hot rod form the goblins starter zone would be one and maybe the blimps.

there was also a blue post saying the ghost wolf would always be tamable...so sometimes blue post means nothing...just whatever they knew at the time...

Ah dude getting 100 mounts NOW is easy peasy i mean you can nearly get 100 with buyable ones for petes sake

This is not confirmed.

We know there is a new Baron, but not whether the new Baron will drop the mount. (I haven't seen 100% confirmation either way, anyway.)

We do know that ZG itself will be gone, but we do NOT know if the mounts will be completely retired.

I feel the same way. I would absolutely love an elekk for my horde characters (and no, mammoths aren't the same), and a mechanostrider for my future goblin (just to stick it to the gnomes - a fun goblin past time). I can see only Horde getting wolves and only Alliance getting normal, human-style horses, but the others should have one available per faction, just to make things fair, IMO.

I'm up to 80 mounts on my main, so I'm well on my way to my red dragonhawk! I'm looking forward to the new mounts we'll be getting in Cata, especially if they introduce a new achievement prize for 150 mounts or something.

Speaking of achievements, they should give out more for small pets as well. I reached 75 on my Mage quite some time ago -- an incentive for getting more would be nice.

I hope the next small pet ones not for 100 pets i'm way past that nomber.....lol

Just to update, there WERE blue posts confirming that the two ZG mounts will be missing when the instance disappears. The book will still be available somehow.

Well given the fact alliance have a shaded blue dragonhawk where as horde get an unshaded golden dayglow hawk- no, Alliance aren't suffering at all.

Tauren started out with no mount- then Kodo. Then wolf. Then the only raptor they could ride was the Black War. No other horde mounts were available to them. And this was even during the first bit of the leak for mount achievements and during it too.

Then blizzard made it where cows could ride everything.

So if my cows can ride chickens, then I am sure that worgen will eventually get a mount.
