Shale Spider colors- yellow?green?!

I was in Deepholm doing dailies on my druid when I noticed the Shale Spider I first tamed on my hunter was a new color, amber:

Also, while looking for Pebble (the little rock elem, he makes a return in a Therazane daily) I stumbled across a rarespawn green spider:

And then of course there is the more common red and purple variations:

Now I'm wondering if there may be a blue one out in the world...
Now, this all was done on my druid so I did not confirm tameability 100%, I'll try to get to that as soon as my hunter is more playable, I crit error every few min it seems. I'll try to tame the green one if it's possible, I'm not sure how to even reach it though, as it's in a cave off the ground and I believe the cave dismounts everyone (flight form doesnt count).

Nice! The green's been spotted before, but the yellow is brand new!

Lovely pics.

According to Wain there, he is tamable, though he wasn't high enough to tame it. But it does drop a mini pet if you kill it!

He's tameable.
He also drops a minipet of himself.

Lol I just got the mini pet on my druid who could reach him. My idea to tame him, was to have a druid fly into the cave in flight form, and pull the spider to the ledge, and either root him or Hibernate him so the hunter could tame. Maybe a distracting shot first for aggro before the tame, I'm not sure if this would fully work. Maybe next time...

I'm pretty sure that yellow one is the same orange one from my post. Was it just inside the cave, by the goblin woman? It'd be nice to have a distinct yellow (and blue) one but there's nothing in Wowmodelviewer that suggests those skins exist
To reach the green one without "cheating" (I suspect flight form isn't supposed to work

) you need to have completed the main Deepholm quest chain up to a certain point to have what is required. I can give you a hint if you'd really like

I just love these spiders. They remind me of Dungeon Siege. There was some crystal beasts there, and they looked like those spiders.

Ohhhh! You're right, they look the same, now that I'm looking at the pics next to each other.
That's a bummer; I like the idea of both.

More variety is good! (Also probably fairly cheap for Blizzard to implement in terms of time/resources.)

I never did find a druid to help, but I had another idea that led me to figuring out a way up. My idea was to use my engineering tinkered rocket boots, use them until they malfunction and launched me straight up, then rocket jump into the cave. But after 5 rocket boot usages (3min cooldown), still no malfunctions. Then I saw someone explode a chunk of stone, so I went and grabbed that quest (Underground Economy) and discovered the explosion can launch you...so I went to an adjacent ledge, lined up my trajectory and launched myself from one ledge to another with a bomb. Naturally, I'm a goblin

Well that was the method I used, but I was hoping to not spoil it and let other people work it out. But way to go anyway

Lol well, I see no reason to deprive others from a shot at him

They still need to be the right level, spec, and have completed most of Deepholm's quest chain to access the quest. Also, his respawn doesnt seem too long, if I killed him last night on my druid and found him again this morning on the hunter.

Not at all... I was just worried about depriving them of a chance to work out the trick for themselves

But I guess it'll be plastered all over the web in no time by others anyway.
