Silverdragon bug?

Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but when I have the silver dragon thing pop up, and it says click to target, it never actually targets anything, even tho I have the mob right in front of me. Anyone else have this problem?

SilverDragon always seems a bit buggy for me. I prefer NPCscan overall.

SD almost never alerts me that I'm near a rare unless I happen to mouseover it...sometimes I have to physically target the rare myself for it to go off, which sort of defeats the purpose. I've had the issue where the Click To Target box doesn't work either.

I'm having huge problems with SilverDragon, though not what you describe. I have an addon error overload every time it catches a rare, so I've had to disable it.

I think it's in need of an update...

I've had this happen too, with a mob in the keep in Silverpine's lake, Snarl-something.

SD hasn't been giving me a problem lately. It detects rare mobs just fine and I don't care whether it's 100% accurate or not.

I like it cause it'll detect old world mobs, but sometimes it seems buggy. I do use NPCscan mostly tho and never had problems with it.

Yeah that's why I was using it too, Max. I just can't use it until we see an update, as things are right now. :(

I use SilverDragon and it's worked okay so far. I use it because for some weird reason, NPCScan does not detect rares outside of Northrend.

NPCscan only has the rares in Northrend and Outland autoloaded into it. You can add all the old world rares to it, but you have to do it by hand pretty much, and it can get tedious...usually I only added ones as I was headin into a new zone, and used Wowhead as my source for npc number and name.

I've had Silverdragon go off on me and not have anything around me so I get thrown off by Silverdragon a lot too...

As long as you understand its shortcomings, i think there isnt anything else we can do with it right now. I have them both running usually, so just in case one bugs out i hope the other will pick it off.

One problem with SD though is the range is super short, whereas NPCSCAN picks them off super far away (i do have view distance maxed though)

*nods* Yeah, that's pretty much why I have SD as well. I don't count on it to perform well, but when I'm wandering around the old world it usually alerts me to rares that I may have missed otherwise. I don't depend on it as a 'main' addon though. It was more of a "Sure, why not." sort of install. :P

I only use NPCScan, and it hasn't failed me yet. ^^
It might be tedious to add all the old world rares, but I'm usually only interested in Outland and Northrend rares. And anything I want to find elsewhere is just a quick addition. And I really like the fact that it doesn't have to be a rare. Used it to find a white devilsaur too.

White devilsaur? NPC Scan never picks up the devilsaurs unless its king krush for me. O_o;

He added the code for the white devilsaur to the scan, and used it that way.

Yep, can use it to find quests mobs or whatever you want npc wise. You can use WoWhead or such to find the NPC ID and put it in the NPCscan

Yup. That's one of the reasons I like it. ^^

I love NPCScan. My druid got her first Outland rare in HFP yesterday while I was leveling her <3
