Silithid Swarmer - revisited

I know this has been discussed; my understanding is that in cata this guy changes over to the silithid "ant" model... and becomes a beast... but that existing tames simply disappear from your stable slot.

Is this still the case or ... dare I hope... do they actually become a tamed ant?

If this has already been (directly, recently) addressed, can you please note the URL?

I had this happen when I tamed one and copied to beta. It changed to the ant, but dissapeared when I tried moving it in the stables. That was a couple of weeks ago though. I don't know if it has changed since then. I'll have to check once the servers come back up...

ok, just copied myself over with a Silithid Swarmer and the news is indeed bad. Upon logging in the Swarmer is not there at all anymore. It seems that this ID has been removed/changed so it will no longer exist in Cata as a scorpid, worker or otherwise.

At least the original teal skin is still around...

This is the Silithid Swarmer I copied across a number of patches ago (you can find more about that back here: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4061). As you can see it is still present for me.
If I drag a pet from the stables into the "Empty" active slot 1 - my current Swarmer will despawn. If I swap my pet back out to the 'same' stable slot again, I will be able to use Call Swarmer (Call Pet 1) and bring it back out again.

This is a fairly old character copy. I don't have the ability to try copying it fresh to see if it still works.

We won't truly know until patch 4.0 becomes live - and we see what we've finally ended up with in the stables!

Yeah! But it's a good start towards acquiring a single model atleast from every Silithid kind of pet 8D!

Though.. Exotic taming at 70 and 70+ only.. that's pretty >_>

Not sure what you mean by that, Qraljar.

I see that it was previously stated in the thread that it's a 4.0 change, but that doesn't make sense, since the landscape won't be changing then.

That would be my guess. The stable changes will most likely be in the pre Cata release patch, and the Swarmers likely won't change until Cata's actual launch.

That's what I was thinking; just trying to clear up any confusion.

BUT. Blizzard did announce they would launch a patch PRE-CATA, another one with world changes and such but still with many things left out or so? Or was I hallucinating.

Yep. 4.03 will have that.

Yeah. Maybe it will be introduced then? Along with Harakiss and all those new pets. And then in Cata we will have flying and all that and Deepholme and new quest hubs? That would be awesome
