Hunter pet, Phoenix?

Unread post by dartist »

Phoenix as a hunter's pet would be awesome, but heres the catch it is gonna be a rare elite spawn just like the spirit beasts in Northrend!

what you guys think?

Is this true, if so what's the source???

Or is this just something you'd like to see?

Something he would like to see...
I doubt we'll see it until other large winged beasts become tameable (gryphons, hippogryphs and wyvern!)

Only if the wyvern get an updated model.

They're currently classed as elementals, but I wouldn't say never for phoenixes. The tameability of shale spiders and the classification of gyreworms as beasts means they're at least willing to consider elemental beasts as more on the beast side and less on the elemental :)

Okay I'll rephrase...

Considering its a legendary creature and we already have mounts and minipets of them, its EXTREMELY unlikely.

They are also more of a magey than Hunter. If Phoenixes do become any type of pet, it should be for fire mages.

I'll hold you to that one Lovelykittty, one day, and it may be 6 expansions away, I'll necro this thread when the hunters of the world have finally QQ'ed enough, and blizzard caves and gives us a pretty firey bird, and you better still be around dammit  <3

Personally I'd love it... I would think it would be an exotic cunning pet with Resurrection or Battle Rez as it's exotic ability. Would even out the number of exotic pets at 9 (3 for each tree).

Which is the only tameable mount so doesn't really help the argument. XD also those 'mounts' act as pets for those orcs. That's the only reason they're tameable because they're actually pets.

However, we have saddleless mounts, too - look at the kitties, for instance. A saddleless pheonix would be the same.

if you can link something considered a mount in the wild that is tameable, I'll be more inclined to believe that. If its saddle-less, it's not a mount. it just has the same appearance.

And truth be told, I don't think a phoenix could be or should be truly tamed. it's a majestic beast, legendary even. if we can't even get a dragon to be tamed, a phoenix is beyond our reach for sure.
