Anyone else been so lucky as to have a nice druid friend to run them through Sethekk Halls heroic for this awesome mount?

My mate has been running me through on his bear for what feels like years now, but still no luck

Gutted to hear it might be removed in Cataclysm, can anyone confirm?

I haven't heard anything of the sort. What I've heard is that Blizz isn't changing Northrend and Outlands aside from adding NPCs (like class trainers), removing NPCs (who'll be otherwise occupied), and removing the raiding mounts. I don't see why they'd remove Anzu, they seem VERY fond of him (every time I've made a premade I get him as my default mount on PTRs...).

I'd love to get him, but more than that I'd love to get him on my druid who's a Guardian of Cenarius and very serious about her druidy nature.

what there takeing away the raiding mounts? last time i heard they were just makeing the drop rates differnt.

wait and relmoving the rading mounts???? don't tell me they remove the phoenix!!!! NOOOO!!!!

I don't think any drop rates for mounts will be changed in Cata. I think when they said they're changing the drops rates for raiding mounts, they meant the Wrath ones (Like Mimirons Head, I think the drakes for Sarth 3D and such).

I've been trying to get that mount for months through soloing it on my feral druid. x.x Yet it refuses.

They MIGHT be making this a summon anyone can do, not just druids, is my theory.

The only mounts so far that are being removed in Cata are as follows:
Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher

Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher

Ironbound Proto-Drake

Rusted Proto-Drake

Rivendare's Deathcharger

Swift Zulian Tiger

and Swift Razzashi Raptor

as far as I know, this is what we are loosing in Cata

No Rawr the Glory of the proto drakes are not going away Blizz said that they are not removeing Achieve mounts. SO the frost wyrms are not going aswell.

The Deathcharger belongs to the new baron now.

No one has actually confirmed that the ZG mounts are gone either. The rumor is that there will be other ways of obtaining them.

Clarification: I meant the raid achievement mounts from Ulduar and ICC. Sorry, I should have been more clear. I don't think they're planning on removing any rare drop mounts since they still take a good amount of luck to get even if you can strong-arm the encounter. The guaranteed ones where you "just" need to kill a boss on hard mode however, they're removing. Just as they did with the ZA bears before Wrath.

And I agree with you Kalli, I haven't seen any confirmation that the ZG mounts are going away.

They're not actually removing stuff like the Twilight Drake; they're just making the drop rate random instead of 100%.

I was talking about the achievement ones. I remmber blizz saying they are NOT takeing the rusted proto etc away :S

Twilight's getting nerfed? I though they said drakes would stay the same and Mimirion, Invincible, etc. would be nerfed.

I've seen tons of posts about these (particularly about the Ulduar drakes back when ICC came out, as people worried about them being removed like the Naxx drakes were) saying that they weren't removing them for the time being.

However, I just recently (last couple of days) saw a blue post stating that they are indeed removing them. A quick search didn't turn them up though, and I'm exhausted, so I'll just leave it at this. If someone else finds the post, great. If not, perhaps I just hallucinated the whole damn thing and everything will be dandy.

The reason for the raid achievement mounts going away is this; in Cata it will be far easier to get gear that has far greater stats on it than WotLK gear ever had, meaning anyone with an 85 who knows how to not stand in fire could get them, and for the ppl who worked their asses off IN Icc gear, thats not fair, the same reason why the Naxx Proto-Drakes and the Amani War Bear are gone.

You can already blast through Ulduar like that, yet those protos are still in.

The Ulduar drakes still require more than just good gear and enough skill to know to not stand in fire. While it is more forgiving of mistakes with ICC gear than TOC/Uld gear, it is by no means something that I would say anyone can breeze through. Naxx was easy from the start, being an entry level raid made for even new raiders to be able to complete; I would definitely say that can be blasted through in current gear, but I'd love to see a bunch of noobs do Freya, firefighter, and one light- wouldn't be a pretty sight!

I'm a bit bummed they didn't leave the Naxx drakes in longer, I would have loved a Plagued from 10 man I'm just grateful they are leaving the current drakes in and making ones acquired prior to Cata a feat of strength achievement, at least that was what I saw posted somewhat recently. Butttttt... who knows. I won't be taking chances with the promise to not be removing the mounts. I say if you don't have them and can get one, do it now.
