Dev Note on Pet Dmg

We changed pet scaling to make all 3 pet types scale with the same amount of attack power, which should bring the 3 pet types DPS closer together (though Ferocity will still do the most damage, as intended). We want Ferocity to do more damage than Cunning, but not by a huge margin.
From http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/ which is itself from http://blue.mmo-champion.com/t/24702152874/hunter/.

We'll see if they actually manage this  But it's interesting news for those of us who truly love a non-ferocity pet!

Also,
As you've noticed, Kill Command is proving a tricky ability to balance. It's pure attack power and doesn't scale with weapon damage and is based on pet attack modifiers. That's why the numbers swing often dramatically patch to patch. For what it's worth, we think the numbers are getting close now on our local builds.
Apologies if this is old news, but I found it interesting!

P.S. Older note:
Lock Jaw (Dog) *New* - Dog locks its jaws on the target, holding it in place for 4 sec. / 5 yd range, Instant, 40 sec cooldown
I hadn't seen this o.o

I am very very curious to see what the final % will be on KC.

My dog holds things down for a lot more than 4 seconds. He's a silly little pit bull and playing tug with him is pretty fun.

Since hyenas lost their movement debuff this will be the one ferocity pet with a move debuff in cata... CD is still about 10 sec too long for PVE use, so I doubt I'll be taming one of these, but still nice to see more movement debuffs on our pets. :)

Isn't it a myth that "pit bull" breeds can lock their jaws? Pretty sure I heard that's not true.

Also, bonobos are not monkeys, they are apes. It already makes my butt twitch when I'm at the zoo looking at bonobos and people comment on how cute "those monkeys" are. *twitch* While not technically a myth, it's still incorrect and is now being proliferated in Cataclysm. :P

Yes, locking jaws on a pit bull is a myth. They do have a very powerful bite, and can clamp down, but there is no 'lock jaw'.

No lock jaw indeed, but good luck getting one's mouth off of something!

...my Trias can be very stubborn about letting go of not chewies :/

Tetanus, also called lockjaw, is a medical condition characterized by a prolonged contraction of skeletal muscle fibers. The primary symptoms are caused by tetanospasmin, a neurotoxin produced by the Gram-positive, obligate anaerobic bacterium Clostridium tetani. Infection generally occurs through wound contamination and often involves a cut or deep puncture wound. As the infection progresses, muscle spasms develop in the jaw (thus the name "lockjaw") and elsewhere in the body. Infection can be prevented by proper immunization and by post-exposure prophylaxis.

I hope those poor puppies aren't sick :( also rust kills......................

This is true, a scientist did a study on it and said there is no natural locking mechanism in any dogs jaws.
Yeah they were bred for that bite, all bully breeds have a powerful bite and hold because of their bull baiting history (hence bully breed) most bully breed owners own break sticks so they can separate a dog in a fight without injuring any dogs.
