Well lets see.....when Ravenlord dropped for the first time, I gave it to my guildie, as it was her dream mount and she was with me at the time. I also bought her the Blazing Hippogryph too.

Multiple hunters got spirit beasts and King Krush and Aotona when I've found them, plus other rare spawns. I've helped some hunters go back to Beast Mastery cause in truth, they missed it and I guess were inspired when I told them i stayed BM because I love it and didn't care what others thought.

My nice things are mostly little things. Like being patient when explaining dungeons to new people (because the Lord only knows I've been there myself, confusion-wise).

Or saving newbies (especially ones from the opposite faction) when they're in trouble. Like one time my leveled rogue was exploring Feralas for the achievement and saw a poor alli priest getting beat on by like 5-6 gorillas, so I jumped in and killed them. She did a nice thanking emote afterwards, like /bow or /salute or something (it's been a while XD).

Hrm....that reminds me. One time, I saw Putridus the Ancient and flew up to try and kill him for the achieve. A pally tagged him first. He was doing pretty well, but then he was attacked by a few other mobs that wander in Putridus' area. I could've let him die and then tagged putridus myself, but I killed the mobs around him instead to get'em off his back.

Yeah things like that XD

In this game, I always remember that behind every toon is another person. Though it may be a game, the emotional impact of your actions is real for someone. The ideas of random acts of kindness and paying it forward apply in this virtual world, in my humble opinion.

My bf gave me the Black Drake from Sarth3D 10-man...

I usually just help people in Trade Chat. I also used to farm the mammoths outside Dun Niffelem for food, making sure to loot them for Hunters to skin.

I agree wholeheartedly. For the most part I just do little things like answer questions people ask in General, point others in the right direction, explain things that people don't understand. Even on my old PvP realm I'd often help Horde or Allies I found in trouble.

What I used to do when leaving a random server (sometimes I would make alts all over the place out of boredom, and later realize I didn't need to be so spread out), instead of deleting the characters (and their gold), I would go to a city or a zone and ask a really noobish/obvious question as if I was new to the game. Naturally I'd be spammed with jerk responses 'L2P lawl', etc, etc, but I'd wait until one friendly person would explain the proper answer. Then I'd mail them all my gold along with a 'Thanks' note and saying to pass on the kindness, and then delete the character.

Yeah, that was one of my tricks when I was making alts all over the place. That was fun. :)

Other than the odd rare-spawn-giveaway, I've helped a few lowbies level (did a couple free Strat runs, etc.), I have a dreadful tendency to give BoE blues and epics away, and Drass will rez any corpse she comes across.

99.9% of the time I'm extremely nice and willing to help anyone who needs it. I've helped complete quest, killed, healed, given items, given gold, and all sorts of things to help.
I've even come across mini pets and such and let them go to someone else.

There are times I wonder if I'm to nice since I've been taken advantage of a few times by other players.

I helped my boyfriend get Shadowmorn by playing his toon while he was out of town. I help other hunters often with gear and stat issues they're having

Sometimes I wonder about this sort of thing too....

And you totally reminded me about quest kills! Sometimes if I'm in lowbie areas for whatever reason (usually doing loremaster, or getting mats, or something) I'll help lowbies kill difficult mobs.

Sometimes this is just a matter of tossing them an invite while I rip through newbie zones (because I really, REALLY hate it when people do loremaster in Durotar or something while I'm on a baby toon and they oneshot all my mobs).

Other times it's a little more difficult. Like that one elite guy in Zul'Drak, near that one Argent camp? This poor mid-70's guy was asking for help for ages with him, and I finally said I'd help him kill it...he was so happy I agreed to help him with all the other group quests and explained how to do'em XD.

EDIT: Funny thought that popped when I hit submit. I love helping people out, and unless they're JERKS about it, I don't mind getting towed all over a zone killing things for them and stuff. But I hate ASKING for help, because I feel like I'm inconveniencing people. Anybody else have this?

I've helped people in dungeons too, especially new tanks.

Oh yeah, I love helping, but I hate asking! ;)

I know I've been taken advantage of, but, that's the risk you run, putting yourself out there. I'd rather be taken advantage of a few times than to turtle up and not help a genuinely deserving person.

On Fio a while back, I helped a couple hunters tame rare pets.

First hunter, I helped him with getting Dishu. I even helped to kill off the adds Dishu spawned. Second hunter, which was a fellow guildie, I helped with finding her Snort. Third hunter, I helped her with Humar after someone else had to be rude to me in General chat when I noted Humar was up.

I feel very good helping fellow hunters get rare pets.

Then, not too long ago on Deli when she was on level 33, I was leveling my pets with the level 27 worgens west of Darkshire. While staring at the big group of them wondering how my pet would fare against them, there was a level 26 dwarf pally wanting to kill them. He barely got by with two of them on him, but I did step in to help with one of the mobs. He thanked me afterward. Then, when I wasn't too far from the pally, he pulled three of the worgens from that large group. I can tell he was really having trouble so my pet dashed forward followed by me to finish them off for him. He didn't thank me then but I bet he really appreciated it.

I've given things like bags I didn't need anymore to people in starter zones. I know how it sucks to have a 5 slot bag starting out. XD I've also helped any of them that needed help with a quest or whatnot. :) I can't turn someone down if they need help. ^-^

When BC came out the first thing I did was went to Eversong and Ghostlands on Wassa to do the quests for rep. I really wanted my hawkstrider asap, hehe. Once my bags were full with low level greens, linen, and bags I would announce in general what town I was in and gave out the items to new leveling blood elves.

During my questing I was the only high level in the zone the whole time and two level 60 alliance decided to come "play" killing all the quest givers in one of the towns. I ended up chasing them out with little blood elves following me and cheering. xD

I've given away thousands of gold, usually in the form of netherweave bags. My tailor or enchanter alts give away heaps of starter gear, particularly to clothies in starter zones. I've lost count of the number of gbank tabs I've bought for newly formed guilds and charters I've signed.

I only rarely do dungeon runthroughs or hand out more than a couple of gold at a time becasue I feel that it diminishes the play experience for newbies. I dont mind helping out other more experienced player's new alts though.

Several times I've helped guildies farm through instances for specific gear or let their toons leech off me while I'm grinding something. I have the 2-seater flying mount on my main so am sometimes asked for taxi runs.

I dont much care about gear so am often passing or only rolling greed on dungeon items when there are others who can use them.

I've given out thousands of gold for mounts back in the day where it was actually hard to get enough. I wont help people much for their 5k epic flight though- thats a luxury not an essential expense!

Wherever I've been trusted with enough gbank access to bother with, I tidy and maintain the bank tabs, clearing out grey crap and sometimes disenchanting crappy duplicate items while adding decent enchants to gear.

Donations of various mats, cloth, dusts, some ores and significant chunks of cash to pretty much every guild I've ever joined.

I sometimes randomly mail greens or blues or bags to random lowbies on a /who list.

I regularly help out with "TFA/Comms" even after completing it already that day.

My toons on nessingwary arent all that high but I've still dumped a couple hundred gold (and stocks of P.DAWG and tabbards) in to the bank.

The few times I've deleted my last toon off a server, I randomly mail my last gold and gear to a lowbie.

I'm reluctant to seek help for myself though in most things. I dont need help getting gold and thats enough for most situations.

Things I've done:

ON Azunara, I will always buff random passerbys in pretty much anywhere but capital cities/huge events. So if I'm wandering and someone passes me by, I'll happily give them a Mark. Few thank me, but it's still neat.

Another time, I found a hordie trapped in a spot where the Scourge endlessly spawned. She was overwhelmed, so I flew down, bear formed, and swiped. A few seconds later, an ally DK comes, and the pair of us rescue the hordie until she hops into the air with a /wave and a /thank. DK flies away, after we talk, and then I bird form off.

I've given Aotona and Loque to a few hunters, and you wouldn't believe how grateful they were.

Things others have done I thought neat:

Buffed me.

Promised to not kill X tame. (Namely Krush.)

One priest I met, level 40, buffed people in lowbie zone. I reply with a buff and a thanks. He replies with a trade window and gives me a few 16 slot bags. Upon questioning, he says that he does that frequently, and gives it to the decent people in the world.

A random 80 ran up to me and gave me 200 gold once. Never knew why.

Most of the time I cringe when a level 2 asks for 15 gold, but every once in a while, a lowbie will run up to me and actually appear to be new. Just a couple nights ago, a level 8 gnome rogue asked me for 20 silver to get some bags because he ran out of bag space. Been there, done that. Since he seemed polite and genuinely new, I gave him 20 gold instead. :) I've seen low-level people with really terrible gear, we're talking level 20's with grays or whites, so I'll craft a ton of stuff and send it to them without telling them I'm doing so. I've bought BoE blues or rares off the AH for dirt-cheap, knowing they'd sell for a lot more had I not snatched them up, so I send the seller extra money and let them know it was worth more than they sold it for, so I wanted to make up for it. I help people who have trouble with killing mobs or who get bum-rushed, I help people in dungeons when they aren't sure what to do, etc. I give buffs to people as I run by them (when I remember to, anyway) Pretty much the same thing everyone else has done. :P

I've had random acts of kindness done unto me, too. I've had high-levels give me gold even after I tell them I have mains I can send myself money from, but they don't mind. It's always nice when people buff me, too.

Even if I end up getting walked on in the long run, the warmth I feel inside by helping people less fortunate than myself is reason enough to keep doing it.
