Massive pic, I know--and this is resized. But out of curiosity, what style do you prefer--the simplistic, "cartoonish" style or the more detailed, shaded one? I'm going to be making a detailed image, a portrait with a hunter, and I'm wondering which style I do better & should stick with. Be aware that their outlines aren't perfect; a background will be added, too.

Opinions plox, crits welcome! (And I don't mean the WoW kind!)

They're both beautiful! The shading and details in the second one are fantastic, but I'll admit I'm a big fan of simplistic cell-shaded or animation styles, so I'd actually pick the first as my favourite. ^^

I gotta say I like them both, BUT...the shaded one appeals to me more. Mostly because I love doing dark shading and stuff, and I love the fact that you're expressing volume without needing an outline (that can be quite tricky).

Do keep in mind though--the background will affect it just as much! I'd love to see how it looks with a background, because that can affect shading, tone, and color palette on the subject itself.

I like the top one the best. The bottom one looks too.....I dunno.....busy? Meaning that having that much detail, plus the background, plus the hunter, would make everything seem too intense for me. I have delicate eyes.

I love the top one! It's simplistic as you said, but seems to capture the snow-leopard feel more. the lack of outline on the second makes it seem too bulky, so to me the top one seems more realistic actually.

I prefer the first one, although, as many have said, they are both great!

I prefer the second. Very pretty!
