I'll reiterate my statement from the other thread on this subject.
Saturo wrote:Umm... People? The GMs will be busy enough without restoring pets for you. Really, you're just wasting everybody's time, since:
1. They'll just respond "No can do, you abandoned it willingly", even the nice ones, because they will simply have too much to do to restore pets for every hunter everywhere.
2. You abandoned them willingly to get another pet. GMs aren't there to serve you whenever you want. You wouldn't call customer support at your computer's manufacturer if you wanted a deleted file back.
If it's something very hard or impossible to get back, I say, go crazy, but for stuff that's comparatively easy, like Loque or Nuramoc, please just go and camp it again... GMs will be busy enough with far more serious problems.

I have been thinking and considering how many other issues the GM are going to be bogged down with... Blizzard might inform them to NOT restore purposely abandoned pets.

According to every GM that I have ever spoken to about restores they say you only get so many "restores" on your account... be it deleted characters, dropped items, abandoned pets, etc...

They wouldn't tell me how many, but I would be willing to bet that you can do it as much as you want, but Blizzard will only allow so many per a certain time frame (ie: twice a month).

I will not be asking for any restores. After being lucky enough to actually get Loque restored I don't want to push my luck.

The only other "rare" that I'll need to reclaim is Gondria... which should be a lot easier to find than someone like... Loque and Aotona.

On the other hand... no restores for me, but I am going to be doing a lot of traveling around to acquire new pets.

I can only hope the purple spiders in the Barrows (Winterspring) will be tameable really soon.

I need more hunters, IMO.

Okay, here's what I'd suggest.

a. Don't ask for Arcturis or Gondria. They should only take about 8-14 hours.
b. Open your ticket, then go look. With how long tickets take, you should be able to find Loque and Nuramoc easy xD
c. Don't bother with Araga, she's a common skin. Same with Olm.
d. Go ahead and ask for Mosh. He's a NIGHTMARE.

I won't be asking for any pets restored. It wasn't the GMs or the games or another persons fault why certain pets are no longer in my stables. It's my own fault because it was my own decision to pick pets over them and release them. GMs are going to have enough to worry about by ironing out glitches, dealing with gold sellers and bots and dealing with ingame harassment for me to even think of bothering them with something like this.

If you willingly abandoned it and it's a let still available in game, don't waste a GMs time and just get it back yourself. IMO, Blizzard has been kind enough in giving us so many new stable slots to fill and it's abusing the restore feature if you ask for pets restored now that bigger stables are open. If you got hacked, or the deletion was accidental or the pet is retired, that's different. But asking for pets restored because slots are bigger and you don't feel like camping them again is dumb.

Oh, and Araga is not a common skin, she is unique. ;) But either way not worth asking a GM to restore her IMO.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. :p But either way if someone wants her instead of a common lion, they should camp for her instead of asking for a restore.

Nura's a challenge only cause of his points. Too much room so you have to camp the whole zone practically. Ironically I camped him for ages without seeing him, then was there retaming Kael, my Warp Stalker, and he flew straight over my head.

Arcturis is simply sitting at a screen staring for a full day. xD

There won't be any non-hunter competition because everyone will be off on leveling to 85, SBs will be easy.

Araga is GONE in Cata.

The only time I would even think about opening a ticket for a pet restore, would be for a pet I'd dismissed for some very valid reason. Like if it had some noticeable glitch - e.g. not just because I wanted to make room for something else, or etc.

If you dismiss a pet for any reason other than a glitch, GMs should not restore it (not saying they won't... just that they shouldn't, imo). Whether the mob is hard to find, or removed from the game, should not be factors in this - you abandoned it, it's gone.

Reminds me a bit of a thread on wow forums about what happens to your character (and his name) if you cancel your account - I was blown away by the sheer number of people who saw no problem canceling their account, leaving it canceled for months or years, and still expecting Blizzard not to make their name available for existing subscribers.

The choices we make should matter.

And it will be people like you who willingly abuse the restore function because you are too lazy that will make GMs say 'too bad so sad' to restoring any pets at all for future hunters once they see this going on.

Edit: that wasn't meant to be a personal attack at you, just people in general. To fear that if many people do this we will get screwed out of gettin help in the future with deleted pets, even for legit reasons.

None. If I abandonned a pet then that was my choice. If I regret it later, I'll fix it myself by retaming the pet. GMs are there to help with real problems like bugs and glitches, not to deal with my mistakes.
There are a few pets I'd like back, and I'll go and retame them once I get my slots. As long as pets are still available (even if they are rare) there is no reason what so ever to have a GM restore it to me. I'll get them again even if it would take me a while.

The only time I can see myself asking to have a pet restored is if I lost one due to a bug or a glitch, or of a hacker deleted my character/abandonned my pets, and then only the very rare ones.
Anything else I would consider selfish and a waste of the GM's time. Especially once the new patch goes live, the GMs will be busy enough dealing with real problems that other players encounter to waste time on something I did quite willingly at the time.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I honestly hope GMs won't waste time on restoring willingly abandonned pets and focus on real issues instead. Even reading and replying negatively to tickets like that would be a waste of GM time, and of that of people who are waiting to have a genuine issue dealt with.

This.

Please don't ruin the system for others by pushing your luck unnecessarily.

Bluddy, your attitude that "you won't make too much of a problem out of it if it won't happen" says it all. You're OKAY with hunting for these pets again, so there's NO reason to take such a risky shortcut.

This with a hat and bells on (BTW, nice new avatar, Saturo).

I strongly encourage everyone not to make tickets for anything but now-impossible-to-get pets (e.g. hydra, slime)

Right now I wouldn't ask a GM to restore anything, even if I had abandoned something I really miss. Let's go through the hard to get pets I've had...

- King Mosh & King Krush - once the 4.0.1 patch hits, the taming process for both is pretty much a joke. The changes made to the spell ensure that you don't need any additional haste gear or stats. The hardest part with these two will be the actual hunt, which in my mind is what being a pet collector is all about!
- Spirit Beasts - as with the Kings, the only hard part is finding them. Loque might be the hardest of the four, but he's in no way unachievable. All you need is some dedication.
- Outland rares - Way easier than Northrend rares due to Outland not having nearly as much traffic, these are hardly worth it.
- Numerous Old World rares - probably the easiest ones to retame by far, seeing as they tend to have shorter spawn timers compared to Outland or Northrend rares and most of them spawn in a spot that could easily stay untouched for a long period of time, giving them a longer uptime. Unlike the expansion rares, these also don't offer anything all that valuable other than a guaranteed random green (if even that), making it more likely that they're left alive.
- Retired pets - probably the only kind of pets I would ever think of ticketing about, as these are literally impossible to get by any other means.
- Currently retired, tameable again in cata - just wait till it's made tameable again, patience! :D We're talking about 1½ months at the most.

u guys made me see my point, i wont ask for any of the pets. though i really dearly miss arcturis and araga...i'll just force myself not gto go online till we got out new stable slots...i'll go tame em back though there's an big chance i might not refind araga since she's bloody rare :( sigh either way i wont be to rude to bother GM's with my tiny selfish problems now.

I wouldn't say there is a big chance for you not to see her... Alterac is practically dead, at least on my server. Just camp there. If she really meant THAT much to you to begin with, you shouldn't have abandoned her. I know that sounds rude, but it's true. When you abandon a pet, you know the consequence is that if you want them back, you need to go out and try to find them again.

And why would you force yourself to not go online? Bigger slots come tomorrow I believe, but either way, what does forcing yourself to not go online solve? :S

I dunno, I just think that if many hunters put in tickets to get abandoned pets back, GM's will stop providing the service for us because people are abusing it so to speak. Personally, I look forward to camping for my rares again, it will be very rewarding to finally have Doof (King Mosh), Loque and the others back in my stables when I finally find them. :)
