The fruits of our labor - share your stories! *Image Heavy*

This thread (because I didn't see another one like it yet) is for those of us who have finished or almost finished our taming sprees. I would like you to share which pet (try to pick one, but share more if you like! :D) you are most glad to have. Is it a new pet you've never had before that grew on you unexpectedly? Is it an old friend that you are soooo relieved to have home again? Share those stories and those pics, I know you've got some!!! :D

I will be the first to go (and this is copied from the "First to Retame" thread where I first posted my story).

Well, I was planning on re-taming Shikon (Gondria) first, but she wasn't up (a lot of hunters in Zul'Drak these days.....). So I went to get Sheldon (Ironback), but he wasn't there either. Surely, Hayoc must be up?! He wasn't a re-tame, but one I have always liked. I headed to his area aaaand.....nope, no Hayoc. No OCJ, no Skoll, no NOTHING. Not a single rare did I see last night.
Vephriel wrote:I was thinking of how it would be smart to go through and plan a logical route of my tames so I don't waste time circling back and overlapping zones, but I know I'll just end up in a sporadic frenzy of taming with no rhyme or rhythm.
This is pretty much what I ended up doing last night. I don't even remember in what "order" (if you can call that chaos an "order") I did my tames, but I was in Azeroth and Outland and Northrend several times going back and forth. It's all just a blur now....

What I ended up with:

- Twinblade (Vilewing Chimaera, re-tame)
- Hambrabi (Rotting Agam'ar, re-tame)
- Surge (Gorishi Reaver, re-tame)
- Crusnik (Quillfang Ravager, re-tame)

And one fellow I had always toyed with the idea of taming, but never had the stable space to do so:

- Mortimer (Disembodied Jormungar)

Obviously I'm glad to have so many of my old friends back, but it was a disappointment to not find two of the ones I really wanted the most (Gondria and Ironback). Mortimer took a little of the disappointment away with his silliness. He's a total nerd of a worm, very "Derp!" in personality. He's a big lovable oaf, and a surprisingly apt fighter. :D

As of right now, Mortimer is a very welcome new addition to my stables. Looks like he's a keeper. I almost thought of letting him go to get a normal jormungar, because Mortimer is kind of hard to see sometimes. Okay, he's very hard to see most of the time. But I just can't let him go! His name and his appearance and personality all go together so well. I will just deal with not knowing where the doofus is. :D

Here's Mort and I in Zul'Drak, waiting for the chance to bring Shikon home for good :) :

So far I've gotten my ghost saber, Azrael back who I'd been missing terribly. As well as my armored boar giblet. Still need to run down and grab my crabby, tacoma.

But, the most important thing of this patch. I found a new friend! On a whim I tamed a skettis Kaliri owl while clearing stuff to see if Gezz was tameable yet(Sadly she's not) and I just love this owl. Owls had never clicked with me before, and I'd even tried this model before, but I really liked it this time for whatever reason. Her name is Kalurra, and she's a keeper for sure.

Aww. He really does have a derp face, doesn't he?

I went and tamed a grey worm from Silithus, but... I don't know, I'm not too keen. My alternative was the disembodied jormungar, so I'll probably try that tonight. Hopefully we'll click, I'd really like to have a worm.

My first stop was Blade's Edge Mountains, I had to get Rafa, my grey spiked raptor, back. After we hugged and caught up, we went and picked up Gemini (Trachela), flying around in the Bone Wastes.

The three of us decided it'd be cool to add Gezzarak to the family, if Blizz had given the ok, so we went and farmed up ten scrolls real quick... unfortunately, Gezz wasn't ready to come with us, but we've got 9 shadow oils and are all set to go get her once she's ready.

Instead, we flew up to Netherstorm and convinced a blue wind serpent to join us. His name is Zephyr.

After that, we went to Darkshore and got the ghost saber back. Her name used to be Tama (Jade, for those green eyes), but I think I might change that... Haven't decided yet.

I hopped a gryphon to Winterspring and tamed a white and blue chimera. I haven't used him much yet, so I don't know what his name will be.

My last stop Tuesday night was in Azuremyst to tame Apollo (Kurken). We clicked right away and he was the first of my Tuesday night tames to hit 80.

Last night my DK tank friend and boomkin hubby helped me 3-man Drak'Tharon to tame Toby (King Dred). My son named him, he's a silly pup, and I love him. He'll be the second to 80, for sure!

I loooooove that I don't have to abandon a pet to tame another right now. I'm sure I'll get to that point some time down the line in Cata, but right now I'm giddy with glee that I get to keep all my babies with me. *hugs her pets*

I haven't started thinking about Aoani's stables yet, but I'm fairly certain she'll be leaning towards colourful more than practical. I have an idea of (re)naming her pets inspired by their colour and I think I'll have to browse Petopia with that in mind...

I had been very much looking forward to taming my silithid. I've always thought they looked pretty cool, but I was concerned that when I actually tamed one, I would not be too impressed, or it would be too small (never even seen another hunter with one; they all like spiders for pvp). As it turns out, I *adore* him! I named him Marv :)

I also tamed a plain brown hyena (the dark brown one, as seen in Desolace). At first I just picked him up to have him just in case I needed him, but even though he's been sitting in my stable since I got him, I've been thinking about him a great deal. I can't wait to level him, and I've been thinking very carefully about what to name him.

Most of all, I am glad to have Krush. I always kinda liked Devilsaurs, and now that they share a buff with wolves, I HAD to have a Devilsaur (I HATE wolves! lol). I always knew that if I would get a devilsaur, it would be Krush. Aside from the fact that he's rare (I love rares in general), his coloration is by FAR my favorite. Each hour that I spent looking for him, my desire to have him grew exponentially. 14 hours later, I finally got to have him - and see that the wait was totally worth it! He was the last Northrend rare on my "must have" list, so I'm glad it took as much time and effort as it did. After all, the hunt is part of the fun!

I got most of my retames and new tames last night and got the Beast today. The only currently available pet still missing from my collection is Loque. He's still the only Basin rare I've never seen in the wild. But once I've found him there are no other pets I want until Cata.

The most important retame for me is Azzere. I'm really happy to have him back. But the new pet I like best is Pounamu, a teal worm from Maraudon. I thought I'd give him a try and I absolutely love him! He's my new favourite now, at least until I find Loque ;)

I made a thread about how Taluwen got her baby(Leaper) back. Lisaara was reunited with Snarl too last night.

I originally posted my taming journey here, with lots of pictures, a song, and everything, but I think this thread is probably a better place to share.

Out of my new tames, my favourite so far is Deekah, my Silithid. She's just so, so ... I'm not really sure how to describe her. I just love her!

I was just thinking the same thing, what a handsome worm! I am personally not fond of the brighter colors but wow, he really looks nice with you. :D And good luck with your Loque'nahak hunt!!!

Sarayana, my, you've been busy!!! I'm glad you got Rafa back. I remember the big debate several months ago when you finally decided to let him roam free for a while. Gotta be nice to have him back. :3 And yes, Mortimer really does have a derp face. Even his wiggly slither seems very goofy. I adore it! :D

Grats on your new friend, Kyonarai! Is that particular mob the reddish one or the dark brown one? Both are really pretty, if I were to ever tame an owl, it'd be one of those. In fact, I did tame a reddish one once but we didn't click back then. Perhaps I should give them another shot, too? :)

Swampfox, HUGE GRATS on finding and taming Krush! He's a heck of a devilsaur. Obsession? No, I have no clue at all what that's like... *whistles* :)

Edit: Crap, Cerah, I missed your thread! Now I feel like a twit for starting another one. Sorry about that!!!

It had been a long time coming.

Firewing had leveled through 10-50 with a cat named Midnight. He started off as a spotted night saber, lost his sopts and became a beautiful sleek panther. But another elusive cat caught my eye, Rak'shiri. I put the loyal panther in the stables for a well deserved rest, when I finally understood what he was telling me. I had to let him go. I released him in a nice, quiet spot in Terokkar (My fave. Outlands zone.) and moved on, promising he'd return one day.

Cata came, and I ran to STV. The first mob I see is a young panther. Ten seconds of coaxing and reminding the panther who I was, and Midnight returned to my side.

It's no biggie, Rhyela. Like I said, I think your thread's a better place for all of us to share our taming stories anyway. ^^; So don't worry. And /grats on Mortimer, he's adorable!

Alright, I couldn't help myself. Had to take portraits of the new family all together. :) As much as I wanted to travel around finding the perfect backdrops for each pet, I know that would have taken hours so I decided to have Nagrand as the static location. May not suit all of the pets, but I do like it as a background. I also haven't had time to put together outfits for all my new pets, so I made due with what I had. x)

I thought for sure I'd go on a taming spree but I haven't all my toons except one still have their original 5. Rexiah (troll huntress) has only tamed four or five and few have already been released back to the wild. Her ghost saber she tamed last night may be released also as they don't appear to be clicking. Probably Araga's fault.
I'm not sure why but for some reason there's nothing I'm wanting to get back right this second. I don't know why but it's like I've had a change of heart or something. One thing I'll be doing however is going into the Scarlet Monastery and taming a tracking hound on each toon so that I won't have to go in again and get the new dog model later.

We'll see.

It's really lovely to see pictures of everyone with their pets. Perhaps we can add an image warning to this thread and post them here, since folks have already started?

I'm certainly planning a few. :)

Image warning added, Sarayana (I'm a lamebrain and didn't realize I even could edit the topic, never done it before!). Thank you for the tip! :D

Man Veph, your outfit for Xerxes is perfect and stunning! Wow!!! Actually, the one for Beast is pretty awesome as well. (And /cheer @ Kevin!!! :3 )

I was going to get pics of all the "new" kids, but my eyelids were starting to not cooperate with me and I had to go to bed. Perhaps tonight between loops looking for Shikon. That girl blends in so well she can be a little hard to find..... ;)

Oh wow Veph! I absolutely love all your portraits, especially how you have outfits to match all your pets! You're quite the artist -- they look more like paintings than screenshots. Nicely done!

I did some epic taming, myself. Any screens I take won't be nearly as good as Vephriel's, but I shall dump in screens of my stable regardless ^^

Already stabled I had:

Valak (King Krush)
Snarler (Snarler)
Chaos (Loque'nahak)
Talisman (Lord Lakmaeran)
Zodiac (Skoll)

So I went out, and I tamed (or in many cases, re-tamed; re-tamed are blue):

Rotclaw (Diseased Black Bear)
Ruin (Grubthor--this one gave me a LOT of trouble, took forever to find him!!)
Thrakk (Ramparts Wolf)
Thorn (Zulian Tiger--saving them from extinction ;P)
Bane (Zulian Stalker--panther, see above ^^)
Kazreth (Black/brown bat--LOVE the 0 focus cost stun!!!)
Bloodwraith (Red Netherskate)
Snowfeather (Trachela)
Muse (Lost Torranche)
Lachesis (Dishu)
Uruk (The Kurken)
*Unnamed* (Black Armored Boar)

So, my stables, starting with the "old" crew:

And the new:

I'm still looking to re-tame Grim, my old Old Cliff Jumper, and Death Howl (need a new name for this guy!). But there's my (long) tale!

I got a funny taming story, probably my most hilarious tame.

I was almost done getting my whole tallstrider family. I just needed the brown skin and decided I would go see if Hahadori's wild self was up so I could tame one of the babies that follows her. Sure enough Strider Clutchmother was up so I laid down a freezing trap and tame beast on one of the fledglings. At first Clutchmother and the other baby didn't seem to notice I was taming, but about half way through the tame they noticed all right and attacked me. Tamed completed and I put my new tallstrider on passive since I didn't want to hurt Clutchmother and did feign death to deaggro them, but forgot they would aggro my new strider instead so I ran. I did a quick aspect of the cheetah to run faster and that got me enough aggro that Clutchmother hit me. She chased me, super slow I add because I got dazed from cheetah, all the way to the Ashenvale border before she deaggroed. Hahadori was NOT happy that I tamed her baby! =(
