I'm looking in the following aspects:

TURTLES+MISDIRECT GLYPH= WIN

1) Best one at holding threat (single and/or multiple targets):
Worms (both single and multiple)

2) Best one at taking the least damage:
Turtles (Mend Pet + Shell Shield + Cower + Last Stand) Thanks Rhyela!

3) Best one for soloing Cata elites (group quest mobs for example):
?

4) Best one for soloing raids/instances:
?

Heres what i think:
1) Worms(single)
2) Turtle
3) unsure :C
4) unsure :C

I personally haven't had much time to fiddle with new pets, since I've been spending all my time acquiring them rather than using them. However, I am really liking my worm right now. While the Burrow Attack doesn't do spectacular damage, coupled with Thunderstomp, it seems to do pretty well at holding groups of mobs.

Secondly, I have always loved turtles and I know they can take some punishment. Mend Pet + Shell Shield + Cower + Last Stand.....that's a heck of a defense they have going on.

But as far as boars, bears, and the like, I haven't been able to try them out just yet.

Thanks! Yeah, i miss swipe on them bears. :C im running out of stable slots... im going to have to get rid of old yiff.... (yes that his name believe it or not, i didn't know the meaning of it on the internets, friend told me a long time ago i should named him that....) if i wana tame the new ideal ones to maximize my profit...

Running out of stable slots already? Oh my!!! We haven't even gotten to Cataclysm yet!

I never used a bear so I can't attest to how useful Swipe was, but I do know that giving your pet a Misdirection at the start of the fight is quite handy. I don't know if you know this, but there is a glyph out there now that if you use MD on your pet, the cooldown is automatically refreshed so you can use it again after the first one wears off. That should really help boost AoE threat, if that is one thing you're concerned about.

(Oh and btw, I don't know what "yiff" is either, and it sounds like it's better that way, LOL! )

That glyphs is AMAZING.... wow. So thats pretty much takes away the threat issue! I guess the turtle might be the best for any soloing because of the decrease in damage.

From what I can tell, there is no best one. All tenacity pets hold pretty well.

I tend to like Boars and Scorpids.

I love turtles for tanking. If you manage to get a turtle killed, you know things have gone horribly wrong.

I had to look it up on Urban Dictonary. It's definitely not necessary to know what it means, just don't use it.

For single-target attacks, Turtle is easily my favourite. For groups, Worm, definitely. The stun associated with Brorrow really helps with group attacks.

I havn't been testing or anything, but my rhino has been doing a fine job for me:)

Sorry but I have not had any of my worm's targets, stunned. I think you have confused it with your own pet becoming 'stunned' and unable to move until after he/she/it has finished channeling the attack. The worm is also good but because of Earthquake stunning your mob, it can not cast cower, growl or last stand. Meaning while it is good for multiples, you have to micromanage the situation carefully.

So MD+Turtle+Glyph+Trap+Multishot would probably be the safer bet for multiple targets.

That or just focus firing them down.

Dude, im 13, what do you expect-__-

I think what's worse is that a 13 year old knew something that I didn't (and I'm 26). I looked it up and erm.....well, to each his/her own, I guess.

I use turtle for boss oloing.
Shield does wonders on spike damage.
