This gotta be the hardest rarest pet i will ever tame.... Stil hasn,t gotten it but geez since the patch release... My god... 20 hunters in the area all fighting agruing who can get it first etc and ppl wanting kill for there last Frostbitten kill etc...

I never seen anything this bad... It`s just a nightmare.. i cant seem to win at all.

I cannot believe our >Server< Restart 3 TIMES today = less chance getting Aotona... I was very sad cant believe it keeps restarting and all these hours i been circling around circles so many hunters and few others wanting it deadly...

I still havent given up hope but i been told it spawn alot at 3-8am btw there somewhere...I am gunna try it around thoese times instead...of being on all day whining over a pet.. lolz:D

If you spend too long in the Basin, your brain starts to do funny things...I speak from experience. If you get to the point of sacrificing guildmates to Aotona, it's time to leave. Just sayin.

I'm a little surprised at how long some of the people on these boards have spent looking for Aotona - not because she's not worth it (she definitely is!) but because I never knew she was *that* popular. I've seen her with only one other hunter on my server, ever. I never heard anybody talk about her, not even while leveling any of my 10 80s in Sholazar (my favorite zone ). During my long, LONG camp for King Krush, I would question every single hunter hordeside who came into the zone as to whether they were looking for rares, and if so, which. Most of the hunters were looking for rares (a few were leveling previously tamed pets while farming leather). Of the hunters looking for rares, about four (not including myself) were looking for Krush. Almost a dozen wanted Loque. Only one mentioned "that parrot thing."

I tamed her twice, never spent more than 4 hours looking for her.

But it could well be that I got very lucky with my own tames while also managing to not ever see any of the many hunters who have her.

Best of luck on finding her. I know she has Been in my Stable since the day I dinged 80. I was Very lucky in finding her all alone. But I do feel your frustration. I have been looking for skoll and still have yet to see him in the wild since he was added to the game.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the parrot :[ try it when less people are farming..on a whim I decided to go to scholazar and camp for Loqu and Aotona..got her within half an hour. I was the only hunter in the zone and it was about 3:00 am server time, nightowls ftw!

Hopefully I'll have good luck with other rare spawns, specifically spirit beasts. I'd like to have one now that I can play BM again!

I'd say it's the other way around. In my experience, it's been 90% about luck (a friend told me it was around 23 hours since Skoll spawned, and 15 minutes later I had him; I got Arcturis after getting a nagging feeling I should log on and check, hadn't even started camping) and 10% about persistence (I spent 3 months straight in SB and have been going back and circling very often ever since.... after a year, I've still to see him in the wild).

Wildstormz, if there are that many hunters looking for her... my honest recommendation would be to wait. You know she'll still spawn later, and you won't run the risk of having her killed while you're taming her.

But if you go with persistence, good luck!

Actually, atleast on my server and on Farstriders, Aotona isnt really sought after. Most people want KK or Loque'nahak.

Ok sadly i put ticket up for Aotona on my server... guess what they told me? IT BUGGED!!!!!!!!!! they told me there very very sorry for all the wait... blah blah then reason why it was bugged was getting stuck in a timer that dosen,t allow it to spawn.... which is sad... they trying find the issue to slove the problem right now thank god.

Wow, that is weird At least you got a response to your ticket! I hope you are able to bring her home to your stables soon

7 weeks...

7 weeks of me doing nothing but circling the Basin nightly from 5pm server time til 11pm server time... EVERY NIGHT... and more on my days off...

7 weeks... seen Aotona dead twice.... Finally tamed her, and almost died doing so... that would have sucked.

btw... did I mention 7 WEEKS!

yeah i wouldnt say 5pm to 11pm are the best hours. thats when its most populated.

i would really look into something else to do if you had to spent 7 weeks searching for her...

but yeah check at 3AM or 5 AM ~ wake yourself up logon and check... better odds finding her just sitting there

My server sucks for camping pets... and I know some of your servers are the same way.

Right now it is 9:30pm server time... there are 38 people in SB. 10 of which are hunters.
Early this morning 3:30am-4:00am server time.... 22 people in SB. About 8 were hunters.
7:00am there were 17 people. About 5-6 were hunters.

...and that was just the amount of Horde in the area...

I didn't mind looking for Aotona for 7 weeks, what I did mind was the feeling it spawned in the last placed I checked.

I am looking for KK now, and even though everyone in the zone knows I am looking... no one has said anything one way or the other.

I'm sending loads of luck to you all. I've been hunting for Krush for day after day (still without success ::sigh::) and a week or so ago, flying the circuit, NPC_Scan went off and Aotona was there!

I wasn't intending to tame her, but no one else wanted her, and so Crackers joined the stables! She is a very pretty bird, and I like her a lot more than I had ever thought!

... now if that lime green bugger would just spawn when I am there!

Stop looking. Seriously, stop looking for a while. Also, post a message on your guild website if you have one, or get the word out to your guildies that you're looking for her. That's actually how I got her. A guildie was questing there and let me know she had spawned. He kept an eye on her till I got there from Storm Peaks. Can I tell you it was the longest flight imaginable lol. Good luck finding her. She's a beautiful creature.
