That's a scam mail, just report it to blizzard then delete it.

There's not really much else you can do about it.

This is a fake.

If it was real the address would begin with worldofwarcraft.com, wow-europe.com or battle.net.

DO. NOT. PRESS!

It's easy for scamming sites to get a hold of your email address if you use it regularly for anything even remotely WoW related. After that they'll just send masses of these sorts of messages out in hopes of catching someone who'll fall for one.

As for myself, I created a brand new email address to use with my Battle Net account. I don't use it for anything, I've never posted it anywhere, and that way I know nobody will ever get a hold of it.

Aye, good idea Veph.

Also, anyone from Blizzard would never need your username/password, so if you get a mail that says "go to this site and type in your wow username and password and you won't be banned", just delete it.

really wish after you report it as phishing scams they block that user and dont tell you if they try to send you another message.....honestly i could care less and i feel like responding and telling them good luck because i have an authenticator

There's actually an addon that doesn't show whispers coming from people under level 5. No gold seller I've met so far has ever been higher level than five, so it works out pretty good.

It screws up if the company whispers you using dks tough. :(

I get a lot of e-mails like that -- and beta invites and whatnot -- to mania@maniasarcania.com. Not surprising, since I display this e-mail everywhere. Unfortunately for the senders, this is not the e-mail associated with my account. :D

Drawing attention to e-mails like this can be useful, though. It always surprises me how many people haven't run into them yet and are fooled.

(I blush to remember how thrilled I was at the 'invite' I got to the WotLK F&F alpha. There was the tiniest chance I might have been invited, so I was so happy! And then I looked at the links are realized that my friend there would have let me know if she was having me invited ... and then I was very, very sad.)

I've received two bogus emails saying they were from Blizzard recently. I also got one supposedly from NCSoft regarding Aion (a game I don't play). I reported the first immediately but I don't know if there's a quicker way than how I did it.

The problem with these emails is that they look very realistic, but luckily, like Mania, I use a separate email address so there was no question of falling for it and have an authenticator as added protection. Worryingly, the emails sent to me were to an address I use for a specific WoW fansite... Suffice to say I won't be going back there again if I can't trust them with my details. :(

I should note that the fansite might not be to blame, but I can't take that risk.

Something else that I find common about this kind of scam is mispellings or wordsbeing stuck together.
