Devilsaur Dash bug!

Oh, my! It appears my Devilsaur keeps losing Dash, despite being specced into it! I'll be putting a ticket in, of course, and checking my other ferocity pets.
Just a heads-up for anyone else with Devilsaurs.
**Note: Dash is lost whenever the pet is dismissed and it must be re-trained at a pet trainer to learn it again.

Dash is bugged for all exotic Ferocity pets. The game remembers that you've trained it in the tree, but forgets that the pet is supposed to know the skill on dismiss/despawn. What you end up with is a pet that has 21 maximum talent points but a uselesstrained talent and no Dash skill. The response to the ticket I submitted told me this was a known issue and should be fixed soon. Meantime my new Devilsaur and Spirit Beast will have to wait for their training.

Ah, okay! Thank you for clearing that up for me. Now I can ditch my ticket that'll take 3 days to get answered. I hope they know about bugs regarding move-to, as well.

Yes, it's only Exotic Ferocity. Other Ferocity pets and all Cunning pets are not affected from my experience with it.
Not sure about other bugs you've encountered; this one was the only one I've submitted.

I was curious about this as well, my Krush kept acting a bit slow to attack sometimes...

Yeah, I saw that. I cried but then thought of a fun way to play it out with my Devilsaurs. Saying they're a tad slow and aren't quite getting that they need to run like hell.

Hmm, I haven't noticed my ferocity exotics losing dash, but admittedly haven't been paying much attention to pets outside of leveling them as of late.
I can totally see devilsaurs not wanting to run, though. After all, people usually run from them!

I finally got a response to my ticket on the same topic last night. Summarized as "known issue, details have been forwarded to QA, read the bug forums for updates", so yeah, should get fixed sometime "soon" I guess.

I never used dash for my devilsaurs tbh- dash is more for spirit beasts, well of old when they had moonfire. Mostly because of the bug with Charge+Moonfire.
But I've had dash on Moonglow and she was using it just fine in some AV grinding I was doing the other day.
Anyways if you want a speedy pet, why not charge and or boars speed?

IIRC, there was some theorycrafting that placed dash ahead of charge/boar's speed for raiding dps. That's on any ferocity/cunning pet, not just spirit beasts or devilsaurs.

This bug has been goin for a while hope it gets fixed during maintenance today. My corehound and devilsaur can't dash and my spirit beast can't charge, these are my three main pets on call-pet cmon blizz!
And it's beneficial now to take both dash and charge, since we want the pet there asap and have a free pt neway. Of course if they could do both......

Guys, this bug affect new tamed pet after patch 4.0.1 My exotic pets that are tamed before the patch are not affected. If your pet forget Dash, you get a free talent point. You can train it with Charge! Dash will still appear as trained. My new pet end up with 21 talent points!

This bug affected my core hound as well, which was tamed pre-4.01; it seems no pet is safe. He had Dash when I summoned him up, but lost it after I dismissed him.

Not quite

Some of mine have the bug (Loque, Krush, Kraken), some don't (Skoll).

here, by the way, but not sure how far down it's gone, assuming it came first ofc.

There's a few threads about it; the 21 point issue, the dash bug, and the charge bug all seem to be the same problem. I've been posting in a couple of them to help people out, but having one central thread is probably better.

This sounds all too much like the silithid dash bug from 3.1 that took them 10-12 months to fix... I doubt they'll take that long this time though, this is much more sweeping than just one pet most people didn't use, but just noting the similarity and the possibility both stem from a common source...

It is not bugged for all exotics. Spirit Beasts work fine. It's only a bug with Devilsaurs and Corehounds and it effects them no matter if they were originally tamed before or after the patch. My black Devilsaur Gojira has the bug and he was tamed way before 4.0.1.

As of last night when I was playing ALL of my pets were bugged on live not just ferocity. Dash didn't work and they also would turn passive for no reason, then attack, then passive. I even put them on auto pilot (without me doing anything) and it happened with every pet. And it was happening on my level 68 troll hunter who doesn't have the ability to use exotics.
So the but isn't /wasn't just in beta it was in live to.
