I'm waiting for Arcturis to show his gnarly head so I decided to name my previously unnamed mounts. Here's what I've got. (Established names are starred. *)

Do you guys name all your mounts or your favorites? Do you have a theme or just start making stuff up?

The only mount that has a name for me is my Cobalt Netherdrake, Roku. The reason he got a name is during the time I was working on netherwing rep, I had a crazy dream with the netherdrakes in it, and I picked the Cobalt one and his name was Roku...then we flew off to find eggs together...heh. I was originally gunna go with an azure drake, but the dream sold me over.

I have just a couple of my mounts named at the moment ...

Celestrasza: future red drake of my Blood Elf once she hits exalted reputation with Wyrmrest Accord.
Brimstone, Dante, and Firebrandt: names given to my various warlock's Dreadsteeds.
Aeris: My priest's white steed.

The only one I have named is my rogue's flying machine, the Callaghan II.

I'm not sure why.

*My human paladin's Charger is named Mystic- after my favourite My Little Pony, Mystic the unicorn. I still have a near-mint Mystic standing on my dresser at all times. My paladin went through the long, expensive and party-intense questlines to get her Charger, back in late Vanilla. She deserved a very special name, and Mystic was chosen.
Her mount macro runs thus: "Come to my aid, Mystic; for the road is long and my feet weary."

*My Draenei Shaman's Netherdrake is the Violet one, who is named Voranaku. She was the first of my characters to get epic flying, and the first to grind Netherdrake rep. It was hard for me back then to finally get exalted, I was so proud of myself!! I had to FIGHT for those Nether eggs, lol.
Her mount macro is: "Come, Voranaku, let us take to the skies!"

*My night elf huntress just recently got the CE Hippogryph. Being a Night Elf since original Beta, I've wanted one of those Hippogryphs as a mount for YEARS. I finally got one on my Draenei Shammy (see above), back when she was an Orc. But as my Huntress is going to be my main for Cata, she definitely deserved one! She named hers after her younger druid sister, Aerdrie.

*My troll huntress FINALLY got the Headless Horseman's mount after, what, 4yrs that he's been in game? That mount has been my end-all dream mount for years; even above the ZG raptor (I'm WATCHING YOU now, Mandokir!). Delighted beyond belief, my huntress named her new lovely scary horse Voodoo.

I have 108 mounts so naming all of them is entirely unfeasible, but I've made a point to name all of my drakes. A few of my other mounts from before I started collecting hardcore have names too.

For some reason I've never got into the habit of naming my mounts. I think since Veph, as my main character, is the 'collector', I have so many that I never really stopped to consider a certain one as unique or special. If we had the option to name our mounts in game I'd definitely do it, but without that sort of function I'm afraid I wouldn't remember most of them. >.>

That being said, I did name my paladin's mount. Misty is the character, and she has a tiny red proto-drake hatchling as her minipet companion. I named that guy Cinder, and when she finally got a bronze drake mount (which will be her one and only flying mount), I thought I'd continue with the elemental naming trend and called him Dune. Misty is water related, Cinder is fire, and Dune is earth (aka sand - the bronze dragons of time). It just sort of clicked.

My human mage is the only one who has a named mount. She has a brown horse named Bela, and now we can go at 100% speed with any mount, I don't think she'll even get an armored one, Bela just suits her nicely.

hehe, yes, I've read the books several times (haven't read the latest one though). The name just seemed to fit my brown mare. I kept wondering why it sounded familiar

all my mounts have the same name: "damn, damn damn! faster, faster! faster!"
it's pronounced as one single syllable.

I have a lot more... They all have a unique name...

My main has 115 mounts and my hunter has 35. I try to name every one but some times it takes me a while to find the perfect name. I have a huge list of names, dates etc. of when I got my mounts. Some examples:

Bronze Drake: Goku - obvious DBZ reference.
Green Proto Drake: Leonidas - more of a Gerard Butler reference to actual Sparta tbh haha.
Swift Zulian Tiger: Either Fate, Luck or Zom, the last one being named after my boyfriend's character.

Some of you are so clever, I love the naming stories, and that one dream was just a little freaky/cool.

Just got the TLPD, any name ideas? I'm stumped!

It takes me a very long time to come up with names for my mounts. The only one I ever really named was my human priest's first mount. He was one of the little level 40 horses and I named him Wildfire. I switched to Horde in BC and now I have a nameless Spectral Tiger as my primary mount, and over 100 others. It's far too many to name. I could never remember them all.

001. It was 8.30 am and I had vent up, in case my boyfriend needed me. I hear him screaming, "JEI WAKE UP, GET UP JEI 10 MAN OS3D!!!!!" Scamble outta bed, log in, scambled to find my authenticator, took us 3 tries to get him down. Caleb and I were all "lol we no gitz teh mount lawl" ...And then I rolled 100. Had it not been for him, I never would have been in there, never would have won the mount.
002. After saving up a TON of gold for 3 of us to get ICC drakes, the patch hit. The guild that was going to help us said it would be difficult, if doable at all, as they wanted to do the HM 25 ICC runs, and that would save them to 10 man as well. So Caleb goes, "Hey, let's get the Crimson Deathchargers. You go first, take my 1/3 of the total gold and lets get yours." It was a sweet, selfless gesture.

I don't/haven't named any of them.

Red Drake = Chaimastrasz
Vendomhide Ravasaur = Hafiz

I'd list the names of all mine, but I have 94 and that's too much room to take up. (I have named all of them but the chopper, and have the names on a notepad file XD) I name all my proto drakes after Egyptian gods, and give all my drakes flight appropriate names.
