So I'm currently camping King Krush and to pass the time I'm looking up some of the pet models that'll be available when 4.0.3 hits. I notice that Grunter has changed from his black boar model to a new one, does anybody know if this change is retroactive? Like if I tamed Grunter today would he switch to his new model come the patch or should I just wait?

I'm not sure about your question, but it's a valid one.

On a related note to your question, that particular model of boar is used by the currently classified demon boars in Outland. Come Cataclysm, all "felboars" will be tameable. Sweetness, eh?

Yeah, that's definately cool, but i'm something of a rare hunter - even among hellboars Grunter's skin will be unique so it's the one i'll be hunting!

well, last time someone copied thier character over with grunter it did take on the hellboar skin, I belive that the model ID is still the same. I am hoping so since I've got grunter in my stables with the apt'd name of Helletic.

Awesome, I'll have to go take a look for him then - King Krush can wait, traffic's been pretty high since the patch so I'll wait till it dies down and everybody's already gotten theirs or given up

Well I got grunter, was pretty easy - parked an alt out there and checked in every once in a while. the zone is almost completely empty most of the time so there's no competition. Let's hope he switches over come 4.0.3!

Well, back to King Krush. I haven't even seen him or his corpse or anything in a week now. :/
