Only thing I want and didn't get yet is Raven Lord. Been farming him for some time with no luck.

When I first started playing I had to have:
Proto-Drake (Warlock Main has Red & Green, now)
Netherdrake(s) (Supereasy grind, now)
An 80 (I have three now)
Gondria on my Hunter(I have three Hunters, now, one has her, two are babies, still)

In Vanilla:

Wolf form. Got it when I found out shamans can ghost wolf!
Bloodfang rogue set (only have a hat)

In TBC:

Netherwing drake (got it.)
Warglaives for my rogue (never got)
Grimtotem wolf (no luck here, not quick enough levelling by far)

Wotlk:

Skeletal drake (no joy).
Black drake (yeyface).
HH mount (recent win!--after 3 years farming lol)
Scepter of the Shifting Sands (got it).
Challenger title for my mage. Oddly enough, I got this one although I've not arena'd for months, and his highest rating is still less than 1550. Honestly wasn't expecting this when I logged in; I think my battlegroup just sucks. Was still a thrill, though, because I specifically REALLY wanted this title, but didn't think it'd happen.

Across the span of time I also wanted many hunter pets that I eventually got. These include Gondria, Snarler, Scarlet Tracking Hyena, Dishu, Skoll, and more.

I think it's always amazing when you see something you want but think it's entirely out of reach, but with tons of effort and perhaps a bit of luck, and maybe help from friends, you finally achieve it!

Not that I absolutely HAD or HAVE to have any of these things (meaning I'd be ok without them), here are a couple of things I've set my eyes on while playing the game:

Bronze Drake: Relatively easy to get if I ever decide to get over my fear of PUGing or am able to gather enough people I know for a run.
Red Drake: Done with all the quests I can gather for rep and have the talbard, now I am stuck at the same situation I find myself in for the Bronze Drake.
All the Whelp MiniPets: Got'em
All the Raptor MiniPets: Got'em
Phoenix MiniPet: Got it
Pretty much any little MiniPet I've ever wanted: Got'em come hell or high water.
Turbo-Charged Flying Machine: Got it
Mechano-hog: Got it
Gladiator's Frostwyrm: Sadly something I know I'll have to make due without.
Phoenix Mount: Would be my dream mount for my Blood Elf huntress, alas I don't think it'll ever happen.
Zulian Tiger Mount and Razzashi Raptor Mount: Neither has dropped for me yet and I don't think they will before they're gone for good. Hoping that Blizz will make them available by some other means in Cataclysm.
Venomhide Ravasaur Mount: Got it
Winterspring Frostsaber Mount: Working on it but secretly hoping that Blizzard will change the quest objectives for this and make it similar to the Venomhide Ravasaur Mount.
Any pet I've ever wanted to tame ever on my hunters: Now possible; Thank you Blizzard!

Ah, seems like a fun thread. Ive only been playing since Wrath, so my experience may be of recent things, but they still mean a lot to me.

Thori'dal, the Stars Fury - When i first started playing, and learned of legendaries, i knew i had to have this. Sure enough, i got it my first Sunwell clear.

Ulduar Protos - This was around the time i started getting into raiding, and seeing as how i missed the Naxx ones, i wanted these pretty badly. Couldn't get into a guild that was capable of getting them (i was rather bad at the time lol) So i broke down and bought a Rusted from the best guild on the server. Few months later, i joined a better guild, and started work with them on an Ironbound. We were 3 achieves away by the time ICC came out, so it was put on hold as a reward for killing LK in 25 player. Shortly after our first kill, we went and got them. By far one of my favorite mounts.

Starcaller/Astral Walker - Also goes along with my Ulduar fascination (best instance of Wrath IMO), was the Algalon fight. Coolest fight this Expansion, and the titles are amongst my favorite. Currently have both, and still use Astral Walker.

Swift Zulian Tiger - Lately it was my sole mission in WoW to acquire this beauty, especially since its going away soon. I had been trying for over a year, until it finally dropped for me, the day before 4.0.1.

Grunty - Grunty has been my alias for everything, aside from WoW, because the name was taken. So, i made sure to order the Blizzcon stream that year, heh.

For now, thats all i can really think of, i have a bad memory. >_<

Vanilla
* Humar - camped for days for him
* Frostsaber - had so much trouble leveling my hunter on a high pop pvp server. As much as I wanted those higher kitties, I never got one until much later and that was after I swapped to a PVE server. I got one though... sadly I enjoyed the white owl for leveling MUCH more and decided to 'bank' him after that.
* Anything Epic - yes. I was a loot whore. am... recovering loot whore... whatever

TBC
* A full set of pvp "tier" set for my hunter - ground me some battlegrounds in the day.
* The T5 "wings" shoulder piece for priests - probably the signature piece on my draenai. only T6 could have topped it but I had horrible luck for raiding guilds.
* Netherwing drakes/Nagrand Talbuks - totally snagged these. The other mounts (netherrays) just seemed silly to me.

Wrath
* Protodrake. I didn't care what I had to do to get one. I wanted it! Ended up snagging the green protodrake from the Oracles egg.
* To raid ICC. I missed out on endgame raiding in TBC and only got just past twin emps of AQ40 in vanilla. I wanted T10. I wanted to compete with the big dogs. and I did... for a little while at least.
* A super badass drake. Recently won the Twilight Drake from 25m OS 3D.
* Kingslayer - Just this past Monday pugged just the last fight of ICC10. Downed him with a bunch of stragglers and alts. Actually, we were doing really good and one person screwed us... then, with ONE PERSON UP, we got him to 11% and the script kicked in. We then did the whole "you hold him, we beat the tar out of him" process, which was quite satisfying...

I am now officially ready for Cata.

This is everything I can remember - since I don't normally set my sights on raid items, I've gotten most everything I've gone after - the only exceptions being TLPD (who I've never been THAT wild about getting) and Anzu (who I've been going after for the past week or so):

Whoops, there were a couple that "got away", now that I think back -

The Qiraji tank.
Wanted one of those in the worst way... but by the time my orc joined a guild and started doing AQ, the AQ event was long since over.

The Zulian Raptor or w/e it's called
No interest in the tiger, but I did want one of these for an alli char... but, not worth joining a guild just for that (although my orc and troll were in a guild doing ZG back then...)

Again though - raid content. I'll work my butt off for something I can solo, but if I have to depend on others for it, I tend to lose interest.

Still kinda sigh and get a little misty eyed when I see someone ride by on one of these, though...
