Hiya Peeps,

In light of my assigned pet in - Out the Box Pet I found myself in need of a cool name. I tried to check if we already had a name thread for turtles and found nothing. So hopefully we can start one here...

I have tried to use either Japanese or mythological names for most of my pets, however a few cool quirky ones have been used too...
So lets be hearing them...?!?! (thanks )

Leviathan (sea+tough in my mind)
Testudo (formation used by Roman troops when making a 'shield turtle') - downside is it looks like a testicle reference.

My own tamed turtles are named JubJub and Torque. You may use either of these if you like.

Akupara (Hindi Myth)
Maturin (turtle name used in a Stephen King novel)
A'tuin (myth)
Poseidon (Greek Myth)
Archelon (ancient race of turtles that lived during prehistoric times)
HumVee (after the huge SUV)
Yertle (Dr. Suess)
Morla (from Never Ending Story)
Kame (Japanese word for "turtle")
Donetello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, or Raphael (TMNT cartoon)
Koopa or Bowser (Super Mario Bro.)

Ludjatako Giant Turtle god, Creek people of north america
Medi Kenaga Great Snapping Turtle god, Fox people of north america
Tabakea turtle god, Father of All Things, Oceania
Taaroa creator god of Polynesia that actually made the universe out of his own shell and body

Some very cool names, keep em coming... Part of me was thinking Donatello or Raphael..?

Oh, go for it! Raphael is an awesome name, and TMNT references FTW!

For what it's worth, I had a turtle named Toby on one of my hunters, it's also what I named my Turtwig I think it suits a turtle.

i named mine blastoise lol
