Ok so maybe I’m getting fuzzy brained in my old age, but I seem to remember that before the patch when I was attacking something (like a target dummy) if I clicked off my auto shot to stop attacking my pet also stopped attacking and returned to my side.

Now when I stop my pet keeps attacking. Am I just misremembering or is this a change in the pet mechanics?

This is also affecting a macro I had (below) which allowed me to call my pet off a target back to my side although I kept attacking and then with the same macro send it to what ever target I was attacking. Now it pulls it back to me until the next auto/cast shot and it starts attacking again.

/petattack [target=pettarget,noexists]

Thoughts?

Far as I know, it's always been like that, especially if your pet is on defensive or aggressive.

When it's under aggressive or defensive, it will automatically attack when you start shooting. With aggressive, however, the pet goes after whatever hostile mobs are close. If you want your pet to stop attacking while you are continuing, put the pet on passive. While the pet is passive, it won't ever attack under any circumstance unless you tell it to with the attack option.
