Well, this isn't exactly a hunter thing, but I think you'll find it amusing nonetheless. A fellow mage of mine recently found a script that can be run to rename (ONLY once!) a mage's water elemental.

Now, my mage has been fire PvP since Wotlk launch. NEVER been frost, ever. I loved the dynamics of fire--the rng, quick-reflexes, glass-cannon balls-of-your-feet style. But when I heard about this... Well.







I just don't think there's anything QUITE as intimidating as a water elemental named Bob.

is this going to get "fixed"? i would like to make a mage if i can name the water elemental even perhaps...

what level do mages get elementals anyways now? it looks cool

You get them at level 10--as soon as you spec Frost. I don't know if they're going to fix it, but atm, they said there is no way to change the name--not even via GM ticket. They also haven't specified whether it was intended.

I named mine Hakuren. Thanks so much for this, it actually made me want to play my lvl 25 mage that's been untouched for at least a year.

And if it doesn't work the first time, dismiss/resummon and try again.

Exactly, Kalliope! Me and my guildmate both had to mount/resummon in order to get it to work; the first time, I got a "You cannot rename your pet" message.

A couple times already I've won World PvP battles because someone simply stopped moving and targetted Bob until they were dead

I'm surprised I haven't made a Frost Mage, yet, just so I can have a pet elemental.
