I heard rumors (!?) about the red corehound skin being unattainable in cataclysm.

Can anyone confirm this?

I tamed "The Beast" in Cataclysm beta. I've not tested anything in Molten Core, or "Beauty".

I think those rumours stem from a new zone having untameable roaming red corehounds. Most likely they haven't been flagged for tameable yet, but either way, The Beast and the MC corehounds are still available from what I last heard.

Also, the rumors might be getting twisted around about how The Beast will no longer have a Boss tag or a skull as a level indicator after tamed, so technically he will just be a "normal" corehound after the tame come Cataclysm. Maybe they meant there will be no red [The Beast] corehound tameable.... but who knows...

But more than likely Sarayana has hit the nail on the head, and other hunters might just be going off of the newly placed red corehounds that are still untameable in the beta.

There are Red Core Hounds over in the Hyjal areas but they are'nt tameable :l wish they would make them available because its a giant pain in the arse to try and get a raid together just to get inside MC to tame one..especially at level 62 >.>

What's the lowest hunter level at which you can tame a core hound now?

You need to be level 69 to get to the bottom of the BM tree. The Kurken or the ones in Shadowmoon are easily tamed at that level, but the red ones might be a bit more tricky.

69 now due to the talent changes..

Best level up a bit then, and at any rate you couldn't get one unless you were 69 now anyway
