So in other words he's a giant flying Felreaver that belches fire?

I don't know if that is incredibly awesome or terrifying.

Funny.. I remember months and months ago reading something somewhere (Hah, I can't remember! XD) people talking about how Deathwing should totally do exactly this! .. And what do you know. It happens! XD

We get an achievement for being burned to death by Deathwing?

Wonder if it comes with dramatic music...in the vid, the guy must've had his music off. And I wonder if you actually hear him yell across the zone, ala Doomwalker?

Wow,it actually sounds like he'll be the first End Game Boss actually available to fight when the exp. comes out instead of showing up a couple of months later like Ilidan and Arthas. Because, despite the Achievement it'll probably get annoying getting torched by this guy and having to run back to your corpse unless you have your hearthstone ready to use when the skies go dark.

Sounds fun

It'll be a little inconvenient when he swoops down and torches a leveling area, but that's a small price to pay for having a flagship villain that's both present (I'm looking at you, Illidan) and dangerous (looking at you, Arthas).

I can picture some poor newbie who just started the game for the first time. They walk out of their starting area, eyes bright with the sense of discovery and adventure....and then a giant freaking dragon massacres everything around them in an inferno.

Well, Deathwing's fiery visage will be plastered over the title screen, promotional materials, and the game's box... They should have an idea of what's coming.

well they'll expect it'll come at 7 december... they don't expect to get ravaged earlyer i think...i hope

Why does this feel like another expansion of "don't stand in the fire"...

If previous expansion releases are anything to go by, we'll be having Deathwing in our faces for a couple of weeks before the actual Cataclysm release, at which point he'll be content to sit in his lair and burn intrepid adventurers. Though I must admit the blues so far seem to suggest he'll be burninating things until the realm first kill is achieved... >.<

Actually I believe the Feat of Strength achievement is called "I Stood In The Fire" or something along those lines.

Oh, I know what that's like. The very first time I wanted to take a look at Stormwind Keep back in Vanilla, I had the unexpected honour of witnessing the Great Masquerade event. Of course at the time I knew nothing about this quest and simply was convinced that there were huge skull-level elite dragons in the Keep all the time, which meant that I didn't dare to go back in there for quite a while.

Aw man I saved up gold to buy mounts not repair bills from random deathwing attacks.

So we're going to have to get used to the possibility of being randomly killed for no apparent reason.

Sounds like just another day on a pvp server. At least being fried by a pissed off dragon is a more epic death than being one-shotted by rogues.
