Is it really luck?

I've been trying out the Hallows end achieves, doing the HH and Trick or Treating. And I've come across some fair luck. I recieved the Hallowed Helm four times, 3 in a row, and the Sqaushling twice, all on one char... But one has to wonder, is it really luck? I've recieved none of the cooler things, i.e the Blade, the Horrific Helm or the Reins. And I would like you to share your woes with me.

I've gotten the blade three times on toons that can't use it. I had the reins on my main from two years ago, but my druid has gotten them twice now. I got the kodo twice on the same toon (an alt, not my main who's the mount collector), and so many squashlings on all my toons that I could start a squashling farm!
It's not luck, but I don't know what it is.

I think that with the introduction of the loot pumpkin, Blizz upped the drop rate of all the items.
I've always been suspicious of RNG. I don't know what seeds it, but I'd almost swear it's character-based. My warrior has always had horrible luck with it. I once kept track of his rolls for loot over a period of months and determined that his average roll was something like 23 or 24.
My hunter, on the other hand, is like a loot magnet. I've actually had people ask me to group with them while they farm mobs for some rare recipe/enchant that drops from some mobs because with my hunter there, they often seem to drop from one of the first few kills. During brewfest, he got both the mounts from one loot keg on the 2nd or 3rd day of the event.
'course, now and then one seems to get on a roll. My warrior finally got the HH mount on Sunday. I logged over to my hunter, queued up, and he got the mount too.

The droprate has definitely been increased from previous years.
Since you can only run the HH once a day now for a chance at the loot, (as opposed to before when you could summon him 5 times for 5 chances), they upped the droprates to compensate.
I'm certainly not complaining.

Finally have that awesome mount.

It's not luck, because if it is, my character has the WORST luck I have ever seen.

This. I've been doing the fight every day on at least two characters, sometimes on even five, and haven't seen a single mount. -.-

I do it 7 times a day over all my chars, not seen the mount drop once...in one day all my chars got a squashling (about 2 needed it since last year). Over Brewfest two of my chars got the mount, over the entire period. If it is luck, I fail rather badly.

I'm also doing it twice a day every day and haven't gotten the mount yet. And I know I won't, either. There's only a few days left. It's kind of depressing.
However, my druid of all things got the sword. Ugh.

Hmm. Hard to say much about the HH event, since most of the drops aren't that rare.
I can say however when running instances for specific items, where you have bosses/chests that can drop a wide variety of things, that I've sometimes noticed what appears to be a "stuck RNG", e.g. certain characters will start getting the same results on a predictable basis, sometimes it's just a certain item sometimes it's the entire contents of a boss' loot.
Can't prove it though - technically even if player Q gets results XYZ 1000/1000 times you can still say it was "random"...

aye same here,
On my retired DK I got numerous Pumpkin heads, pets even 4 swords and the reins (even ran in too tlpd >_>)
On my 5 year old hunter my main I only end up with damn masks >_> and sometime some pumpkin heads.
on brewfest I got both mounts in one keg tho (already had the ram but thats not the point)
even with rolling on my hunter I always tend to roll low while on my DK I roll high.
One of the main reasons I don't do MGT or anzu with my DK I don't want to end up jinxing it.

Ive received the reins, helm, and squashling all on one toon. My druid. And the sword on my paladin. So far haven't seen any of those items on my hunter

Doing 4-5 toons a day from the 2nd day forward...
I've stopped counting the squashlings, I am constantly having to delete them.
I also have gotten a number of hallowed helms (the pumpkin head, not the plate helm), as well as a fair number of brooms.
I managed to get 1 mount, for my BE, which makes 2 counting the one I got for my orc last year, who also got the sword on the same run...
And, got 1 sword this year for my female NE... on that occasion she also got a broom, hallowed helm, and squashling from the same bag...
I'm hoping for 1 more HH mount on my fury warrior or one of my NE's, but will see...

Got a third one today, totalling it up to 6. Fortunately this was on a different alt, so I have it on 3 chars.
