Why?!

Mmk. Earlier today found Loque. Got someone to come tame him with a help of one of my alliance friends. Made that hunters day. All was well. Logged off for a little while then decided to get back on to see if Krush was up...Sure enough..he was. I was excited thinking hey maybe I'll actually get to tame him. Then, a level 72 paladin came out of no where and turned on his crusader aura and beat me in flight to my green discovery. I was sitting there doing /beg for him to stop. He got his kill and flew off. I just sat there, in shock and thought I was going to cry. /who'd afterwards and told the other hunters in the area he had been killed. One whispered me and said that she had been camping him for awhile. I told her where his corpse was and she came and skinned him. Seriously...why to people find enjoyment when it comes to killing rares hunters want to tame? Ugh!

-end rant-

*hugs* Sorry to hear that. I've seen it happen. Granted, one must remember, he is apart of the Frostbitten Achievement.

Makes you wonder why, right? Sorry about your loss.

I blame blizzard for putting them up for achievement. I got the feeling I will never get the chance of taming Jadefang, ever. Jadefang drops minipet.

A long time ago, I saw a pally handling three rock elementals at least three levels above him and he had a bit less than a half of health left once he was done with them. I was skeptical the whole time he wasn't gonna survive.

Doesn't matter if it's an achievement. Rude people are rude wherever they go. If they need to make someones day miserable to get their jollies on, then Kharma will eventually catch up with them and they will eat their own bile. Besides paladins suck, something about the personality about someone who makes it their primary class is compensating for inner ego problems. usually compensating for something/ smaller problem. hehe "smaller" Unknowne-Elune

That was kind of uncalled for. Some of my best friends have paladin mains and they'd never do what that pally did.

People are ignorant and that usually seems to be the case in the basin. Yes sometimes people are like OOO rare kill it! But Ive never heard stories like this about Skoll or Gondria. Arcturis is usually another hunter or the same rude person.. but the Basin is a free for all of complete rude ignorant people! For some reason... that acheivement makes them lose any sense of commadory and it goes to MUST KILL IT.
I know.. Ive seen it happen alot of times to people. Some of them will wait until you have to FD to try again. Some of them wont, even if its tagged they have to kill it. No excuses, no sorries... and people can not say OH I DIDNT SEE IT TAGGED! Obviously if the target is NOT after you, then its already been tagged by something else and the grey text in his name should also be a bloody clue in. But alot of the time they dont care. Though I have seen some nice people who just fly by and leave you to your tame, or people who say a rare is up and ask if anyone wants him.

I made alot of hunters friends by talking in the Basin. We agreed to help each other, and offering gold is a good incentive to keep that from happening again

My main is a paladin. Tank/heals. A few people have accused me of "sucking" but in general I conduct myself in a way that gets me invited back to raids, and has people trying to recruit me to their guilds.

I have never (would never) intentionally ganked a hunter's tame. I don't kill-steal. I don't jack mining nodes if another player of my faction has already landed on it. If I see a player of the opposite faction going for one (not landed yet), the race is ON though, that's the nature of the game.

I was camping Krush recently. You know which class was most likely to make a nasty remark to me? Death Knight. Statistically speaking I have had more negative experiences with DKs on all 5 of my 80s than any other class. I don't sit there and revile DKs to my friend whose only 80 is a DK (and who is a VERY sweet lady and a good friend).

Yes, that paladin was wrong, but there are lots of players who play paladin and are honest and fair. It can be tempting to stereotype, but it would be nice if you could make the effort to let each player stand or fall in your opinion by their actions, not their class.

I've met just as many nasty hunters camping as I have pallies and DKs. Oh and I've had warriors kill King Krush before I got there to hold him for a dwarf buddy. They're powerful, popular classes. Thus, lots of wankers and idiots. It's way easier to remember the negative experiences more than the positive. For the kind hunter who showed me Loque, I've heard three stories of hunters being jerks to other hunters (I got my head bitten off going for Skoll. I've not seen hide nor hair of him since he was introduced. I may just wait until after Cata...).

Edit: Oh, and there's something about many achievement hunters that drives them to complain about hunters taming THEIR imaginary fairy points. Personally I wish the rares weren't an achievement but there you go.

This sucks and I understand what you went through. I had a Warlock from my guild messing with me when I found Krush. Said he was gonna come kill him and even hit him a few times in melee and pulled aggro. But then he stopped so I could actually get the tame.

I wonder if you could have just Distracting shot and hit tame while the paladin was trying to kill him.

People are assholes.
Some classes tend to attract assholes more than others, actually, or so I noticed, but still, most of the people you'll meet online are just a bunch of tossers and it doesn't matter what class or faction they are.
I choose to believe that such behaviour is just a result of being a moron and spending too much time on imageboards, "lol trolling u, also the game".
Today, a guy from my guild screwd up my Skoll camp by flying over, pulling out his own Skoll, waving and flying away. As it turns out, I was in the right place, because I just saw him being tamed by a hordie when I logged back in after clearing my cache for NPCScan.
Then again, that guy is kind of a retard and might not even realise what he was doing...

This.

Don't belittle other classes, Unknowne. It's the jackasses who happen to be playing particular classes, not the class itself nor the decent people who play it.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Just like when Lisaara was camping for Arcturis. I had been camping him for 21 hours. This other hunter had been griefing me the entire time, trying to chase me away. but I wouldn't budge. Arcturis shows up. I SS him, then tame. The other hunter threw a fit and pulled aggro from me, then tried taming him for himself. I pulled it back, tried again. the horde hunter then killed him. I was furious! i got on my horde toon and nailed him. He just whispers "Lol! It was my tame. You stole him. I deserve him more anyways cause I don't have a spirit beast." and then goes "Lol! It's just a game. It was my tame. We both killed him." despite I showed him the battle log.

Also note, this was the same hunter I was helping look for Gondria a day prior to this. The same one who told me he hated alliance, despite having 2 alliance toons. Later, his friend got him to squeal(ironic both of his friends that talked to me about him actually agreed that what he did was low) and he admitted he killed him because I was Alliance and he didn't want me to have it.

Moral of the story? Always follow up with a Freezing Trap after you've Scatter Shot someone! ;)
Well, that, or "be nice to people".

Freezing Trap would've been broken by him if he shot at Arcturis so i don't think that would've helped any. :(
I would've loved to have scattershotted that hunter but Moon Guard is an rp server so....no flag. ;-;

Aaah. I'm so used to being on a PvP realm it didn't occur to me that the other hunter might not be flagged.
