I was looking for new pets in the MMO-CHAMPION Database, so i found those 4 new Core Hounds:

Some people in the beta were talking about new Core Hounds with the Drakeadon model (http://www.wowwiki.com/Drakeadon) and the Void Terror model (http://www.wowwiki.com/Void_terror).

Do you know if it's true?

I've been hoping for these!! I know the demon hounds were changed to beasts, so it could be that these guys were changed as well... let's hope so! The Void Terrors roam around in Netherstorm, so that should be easy for someone to check. The only Drakeadon I know of, however, is Chromaggus... so someone's going to have to jump into BWL to find out about that one.

Not every rare on that list actually exists, so it's anyone's guess as to whether those datamined rares will ever see the light of day.

Just checked Netherstorm. The Hound of Culuthus are still demons. Not sure on Chromaggus.

I'm honestly not to surprised with those particular mobs. They look a little too demony to really be hunter pets... Then again, I know a lot of people could say the same thing about those Dogs that just became tamable, so I guess we'll just have to say. Beta is Beta after all.

Considering they look like two Beholders glued to a Core Hound body, I'm guessing they'll be demons now and forever.

Chromaggus would be a nice addition to the Core Hound family, or at least some of his spawn/more experiments by Deathwing wandering around Cataclysm areas/instances.

Did you by any chance check the ones in Blade's Edge? (I think they're at Death's Door). Or Immol'thar from Dire Maul (if he's even still in there...)?

as much as I'd love to have chromaggius's model, I have to agree its too demony to be a hunter pet.

Honestly I would've thought the Core Hound models we have now were too "demony" to be Hunter pets, so anything's possible. That having been said, I think the closest thing we'll get to supernatural/sentient pets are the Spirit Beasts, as they're supposed to be sub-deities and all that.

Unfortunately the list of names doesn't include the actual models being used. Some of the speculation that they may be draekadon and void terror models may have arisen from the fact they've been on the untameable skins list as suggestions for, well, since the forums were on Mania's Arcania Both are very obviously derived from the core hound base model, and neither is that different from a standard red core hound compared to the differences between a red core hound and the white fluffy one (which are huge). But I always had them on the list as "may not happen but wouldn't it be nice if..?" suggestions.

If I had to guess from the names supplied, I'd suggest that "Portent" would be another fluffy model (Portent being a synonym for Omen). It'd be nice if he was a different colour, but there's been no sign of a new fluffy skin on the databases yet. Magmagar and Felmaw would be red and green standard core hounds respectively, and Chrominius would be a draekadon model, related to Chromaggus in Blackwing Lair. Of the two suggested models, the drakeadon makes the most sense to use. In Blackwing Lair, Nefarian was performing "genetic" experiments to create the chromatic dragonflight. I don't know if Chromaggus's origin is ever explained, but it could be assumed that he was the result of an experiment in infusing the chromatic essence into one of the core hounds that live close by.
