Gondrian Question(s)

This is the latest Spirit Beast I'm lookin' for. I just have a few questions, since I can't climb onto WowHead at the moment:

1) Out of the 5 spawn spots, which is his most common spawn? I would like to pick a starting point when I do my laps.
2) Do Rolling Restarts reset the timer?
3) What is his timer?

I'm not an expert on the matter, but from what I understand a Northrend rare CAN spawn every 6-8 hours (meaning no specific rare is guaranteed to spawn, yet multiple rares may spawn at once). I'm not sure how rolling restarts affect the matter, if at all, although I have heard of several people bagging their rares after respawns. However, I tend to think this is more due to coincidence than actual in-game mechanics.

One thing I know for a fact is that rares spawn on the 0s on the server clock (1:00, 1:10, etc), so whenever I was camping rares, I would circle their spawn points on every 0 then tab out for the rest of the 10 minutes. People on Thottbot swear up and down that Northrend rares despawn after 10 minutes if no one kills/tames them, but this hasn't been the case for me. I followed Krush around for 10 minutes when I found him until a priest arrived, then spent another 10 minutes actually taming him. Obviously, he didn't despawn. :p

There's something else I've noticed that I don't entirely understand, but I think it's worth mentioning. It has been my experience that, after killing/taming one Northrend rare, another one would tend to pop up 30 minutes later. I've observed this 3 different times, and it seems that others have experienced this as well. Just keep it mind~

I'm not sure what your schedule is like, but you are much, MUCH more likely to get a rare in the middle of the night or super early in the morning. I bagged almost all of my Northrend rares between 1am and 8am server. Luckily for you, Zul Drak isn't as frequented as Storm Peaks or Sholazar Basin, but you'll still be safer (and probably more likely to find her) if you can wait until night time.

Good luck with Gondria, I hope you get her soon. :] Don't drive yourself crazy camping/pining after her. If you have the patience, you'll get her.

Northrend rares have spawn timers of 6-22 hours according to those who have done extensive research/camping of rares.

They DO NOT de-spawn after a few minutes. People have followed Vyragosa along one of her flight paths without her de-spawning.

However, in some areas a hostile NPC may attack and kill a rare (e.g. tales of guards attacking and killing King Krush when he spawns near Nesingwary Camp).

As far as I know, the choice of which spawn point Gondria will appear in is random. Personally, I tamed her just by the border of Grizzly Hills.

I have heard rumors a rolling restart can reset the timer, but this is not confirmed.

I tamed her by the Altar of Har'koa, she spawned in the middle of those cursed offspring dudes. It was about ummm, 10:28PM on Feathermoon though that was weeks ago (<3 my purple kitty). It's really kinda random as to where though. There's at least less competition from Acheesement people, since Gondria is not on the Frostbitten list, nor is her loot worth writing home about.

It should be noted she is a YELLOW mob, so guards shouldn't go after her.

I tamed her close to the mammoth crater after flying by casually one day (had been looking casually for months).

I've tamed her twice, both by the Grizzly Hills border with all the bears and white leopards.

~ From my experience, she spawned every 12 - 24 hours.
~ As crappy as it is, gold will get people to help scout all her spawn points. You offer a reward for finding her, people will be more likely to help you.
~ I highly recommend using NPC Scan because she is very hard to see. She blends right in with the snow.
~ She is a neutral mob so she'll be a yellow dot on the map.
~ I've seen her spawn by the Mammtoth crater too
~ Rolling restarts dont really affect it usually. I always thought it did but everytime I tried it, I've never seen Arcturis or Gondria up.
~ Theres 3 places you can 'park it' when you're not doing laps: By the Crater of Mammtoth, By those big stairs were that one bear and sentinel thing pat, or where I was which was by the Grizzly Hills border with the bears and leopards.

Good luck!

I'm on Feathermoon as well. Your time interest me. Thanks.

I'm glad to hear about the rolling starts. I've parked myself at the group of bears and leopards. I just hope I didn't miss her while I was away.

I doubt it. Your NPC Scan would've blared your ears off if she were near. Had someone tamed her, it still would've blared.

I know. I meant away as in away from my apartment.

I've found Gondria at least six different times.

- Twice right outside of the outpost (Zeb... something).
- Twice on the border to Grizzly Hills, hanging around with the Bears and Leopards.
- Once by crater, chilling with her glowing slime... friends...
- Once by the stairs.

My most recent tame was by the crater, which is where I least expected her to spawn. So honestly, it's random, but I simply parked myself by the stairs with NPCscan and did circles every few minutes.

Still no luck. I also got the sad feeling that the Elemental mobs may have killed her. There's a spot near her spawn point where some Fire Elements are fighting the Trolls. Meh, I actually have to go to my office today, so I'm going to miss a large chunk of camp time.

If she's killed by a mob, she won't be looted or skinned, meaning a fly-by soon after should trigger from her corpse IIRC, so you only need to worry about missing her totally over long gaps (e.g. going to work).

I'm farming the raptor pet and since you're on FM too, I'll keep an eye out for her when I'm in Zul'Drak. I'm twitching over Skoll (I've hunted for him on my BE since he was introduced and since Novi hit 80... barf), so I take breaks sometimes to farm pets, run things and so on. I do have a level 1 Hordie, so I'll shout if I see her.
