NPCscan in 4.0.1 [can keep cache clear of your stabled pets]

A few of us noticed that our deep-stabled pets have been triggering our cache/NPCscan ever since the patch. This makes hunting for these pets for other hunters more difficult.
I may have accidentally stumbled on a solution, but it will require further testing.
I currently have my Krush and Loque stashed in the first half of the deep stable. My short-term visitors Gondria and Skoll are in the second half of the deep stable. I logged to clear my cache, fully expecting all four to trigger when I logged in. This was not the case; only Krush and Loque were auto-cached.
This is where you guys come in.

Does the second half of the stable avoid the auto-caching? Or was this a freak occurrence?

Ooh. I gotta try this. Will update!
EDIT: I kept Precious (Loque) by my side on Ikult, and put Nyarlathotep (Skoll) in the second-to-last stable slot on the secondary stables page. Logged out completely, cleared creature cache, and logged back in on Ikult. I did /npcscan cache, and the ONLY pet that came up was Loque!
Obviously this could use further testing, but I'm heartened by this! Nice catch, Kalli!

Eeee, excellent! And I caught it by accident. xD So glad it works!

What version is your _NPCScan? Since version 4.0.0.3, my pets are not getting autocached on login no matter where they're stabled.

....this is even better news! I guess ours are older versions. Thanks for the heads up!

You're welcome

I must admit, after I read your post, I tried different combinations to test NPCScan

Okay, I have the new version, and it popped up a message saying that "the following pet(s) cannot be searched for while tamed." Then it only listed Aotona, which was odd, since Kallimon's active pet at the time was Arcturis....
So it seems like my solution may still be helpful after all....maybe.

Most probably another hunter with Aotona was nearby. Try going in a remote location and see if it happens again.

Nope, I had opened my stable on my troll hunter. I have Arcturis and Aotona tamed on him. Aotona was stabled (first slot), so she should have shown up, but Arcturis, who was my ACTIVE pet at the time, triggered nothing. Very very strange.
