Bye bye Un'Goro! (Pics in second post)

I FINALLY got King Mosh, and let me tell you no matter what anyone says about him being a worthless level 60, he's NOT EASY to tame!

I logged in this morning after breakfast, I was planning to once again leave wow up while I had other stuff to do online.

I wasn't really expecting I'd see anything, but I decided to ride one circuit just because. I opened a chat window and was going to just type in general "Anyone seen King Mosh today?" but before I could type anything my screen lit up like the 4th of July as Silver Dragon and NPCscan both detected the presence of my long-awaited target.

I dismounted, made sure I had dismissed my pet, and hit my haste-potion-tame-beast macro. I knew attempting to trap this beast was a waste of time, no trap can hold the King of Un'goro.

He feared me twice! He wasn't going to come quietly, oh no, not this King. I had to prove my worth, and even six days of hunting this elusive beast was not yet enough.

I feigned death and started again. This time, I finally had success. At 9:14 am, on the sixth day of hunting King Mosh, after almost giving up a dozen times, patience paid off. I was thrilled.

Of course I couldn't help expressing delight in the general chat. I got some congrats, but sadly it was another hunter who would attempt to ruin my morning. He felt it was his duty to point out that all pets get abilities based on species now, and congratulated me on "wasting my time."

I was very diplomatic, and told him I'd accomplished some good out there, and also got what I wanted. He is free to play the game how he likes, and I am too, it's not necessary to rain on anyone's party. Someone kindly agreed with me, and the rude hunter put me on ignore. So... I win? :headbang:

I think this is a new record, being ignored because I tamed a rare elite *that no other hunter was seeking* just because I wanted it.

I refuse to let this wet blanket reduce my happiness even one bit, as I dance in the blasted Crater with the King of the Devilsaurs.

Some pictures from my time in Un'Goro!

Zydeco came along for a while to keep me company. He enjoyed having a tour of this place, similar to his home and yet also very different! It started to rain pretty hard:

I got a whisper from a gold seller, but "killed" them with kindness!

I was too excited to remember to take a screencap when I first saw Mosh. Oh well. But here he is just after taming:

And here's where I was on the map when I found him. He doesn't patrol like other Devilsaur, he just paces back and forth in a small area:

Congrats!! I remember when I first tamed King Mosh, it was such a thrill! I really miss my boy, but I've been hunting in Un'goro for a few days looking. Don't let that nasty hunter spoil your day. ;)

I have a question or 2 for u, yeah make it 2.

1. I haven't tried it yet, but wouldn't it had been easier, instead of farming him to just go to normal DTK and get the great King Dred, atleast there is isn't a farm just need to conquer a hard tame? True what you did involves great patience, but King Dred is a beast, and has the same skin. and now since tame time is so low, u might not need help.

2. On your last picture on your mini-map, it actually was pointing in the direction of where the mob was located (yellow arrow). as far as I know thats the biggest thing that NPCscan is missing, so my question is, what mod did that for u?

Hello Tybud!

1. Yes, it might be easier to go to DTK and find a guaranteed spawn, same skin. Heck I tamed 4 or 5 orange devilsaurs in Un'Goro. Same exact appearance, same exact skills when tamed. It wasn't about the color, it was about hunting a rare elite beast that is also a challenge to tame. If others prefer to tame a different one, fine. I wanted to find Mosh. :)

2. The yellow arrow is Blizzard's quest interface indicating that if I would just stop being a silly goose and go North to Orgrimmar I could turn in a quest there! It wasn't an add-on at all, sorry. And where Mosh spawned was right where I was on the map, he was actually south of me as I rode down from the path to Silithus towards Golakka Springs. I do agree that an indicator of which direction the rare is in would help immensely, but if such a thing exists, I am not aware of it.

I hope this answers your questions, and if not by all means please let me know and I will try to help if I can.
