Nesingwary glyph help?

As some of you guys might have noticed, I have an infatuation with my fierce dk Sakara... Well my friend's been taunting me to tank (lol pun ) but I don't want to do so without being properly prepared. After all you can suck at dps without penalizing the group too much, but a bad tank? Not so much.

Anyway! I can afford the dual spec, but not the glyphs. This is the spec I've in mind: http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#jchr0srrusdZ0h:Rzosmac (If anyone has any opinions or input it's muchly appreciated, I'm very much a DK newb.)

The glyphs I'd like are:
Glyph of death and decay
Glyph of Death strike
Glyph of pestilence
Glyph of blood boil
Glyph of path of frost

And for my frost spec I'd like:
Glyph of frost strike
Glyph of obliterate
Glyph of icy touch
Glyph of hungering cold

The thing is... I can't pay for it. I'll be very happy to owe whomever makes them, but right now I don't have enough gold to pay for all this, particularly since the AH economy on Nesingwary seems very much to be seller's market...

And on a final note: if anyone's around level 60 and wants to dungeoneer with me, I'd be much more comfortable making my tanking debut when I know the group members won't ragequit if we wipe... In return, should my attempt be successful, I'll be happy to pocket tank for ya as we level when I'm playing on Nesingwary. :)

Guide here to DK tanking after the patch. Covers pretty much anything you could ever wonder, and then some, and then some more so that you don't want to tank anymore.

I have a maxed scribe, as does Ketcha. Either one of us can make the glyphs for you.

Oooh thank you! I'll definitely be looking that over. I did give it a go last night and had a blast, even though I lost aggro on one or two trash in a pack a few times. The only tanking I've ever done was pre-4.01 bear tanking, so the whole tabbing through targets on trash pulls is new to me. xD Loads of fun though, once I figured out that my things come off cooldown differently than in my frost spec. ;)

Sakara is a dual gatherer, so I'm sure I'll be able to pay ya for the glyphs as she grows up. :) I did manage to snag icy touch and blood boil "cheap" (ok, not really, but less than 30g each) on the AH last night, so that I didn't go in completely unprepared.

Looks like the post you linked recommends death strike, heart strike, and DnD as prime glyphs for aoe tanking. That's what I'll focus on while I level, since everyone pretty much just goes in and aoes everything down. The three majors I had in mind (blood boil, pestilence, and dancing rune weap) are also the only ones that seem good for that purpose... - and blood tap and death grip as minors. Does that make sense to you?

i wish you the best of luck. i personally hated DK tanking as frost spec (before they switched it) ~ but i actually enjoyed blood tanking back when blood was more the 'dps' type (i used the same rotation as my blood dps spec :) )

DK's are phun. I hope you enjoy yours well

So phar I phind it's a lot of phun. :D

I tried several DKs before the last patch, and I kept abandoning them... I didn't really get it, the rune system confused me so much. I dunno what changed, but I got to thinking about dw frost dps as a kind of enhancement shammy type - whacking things with your two weapons while putting up spells and such. *shrug* Makes sense in my head.

Anyway, my DK buddy rolled a DK with me on Nesingwary (I have to get him to post here and get into the guild, he'd be a great fit) and kept telling me to tank, so I thought "to hell with it, i'ma try!" I didn't suck (or the healers were magnificent) so I requeued and well, now I think Sakara shall be a tank. :D

Myself (and I'm sure Ketcha) won't charge for it. Takes me minutes of time to gather the herbs to make any glyphs.

Flight form + tauren faster herbing racial =

I told myself that I wanted to start playing my pally alt more in Nessingwary. She's a level 65 and did her dungeon debut last night as a dps. So anytime you see me on.. (Quillthiliwt) will be glad to do dungeon runs with you.

Haha Kalli, cute. :P I was actually just discussing my bear tank with someone the other day - I think I would have stuck with it if I'd had a chance to become a raid tank on her, but the random heroics took the fun out of it. People were impatient and complained about my tanking skills when they started aoeing and doing 7k dps before I'd had a chance to snag up all the mobs. :| I had fun tanking when I was running with guildies, it just happened really rarely. Tl;dr: I have always liked tanking, I just got put off of it because of random heroics. :P

... and on that same note, I'll add ya to my flist next I'm in-game, foru. :)

Thanks Ryno! :)

Haha you only noticed now? :P I'm having a lot of phun, thank you. :) I did have phun playing Aoani last night too, finally decided on a name for my green raptor (her name is now Fern and her personality is very... conniving. She's sort of like an imp.) and got to tame Snarler! \o/

ooOoo, I think i'm going for Echanykee soon, and then once I hit 20 (for the mount to make it easier) i'm going for Bjarn and Timber. I'm excited about getting Bjarn back

Funny you say that, we were on our way to Dun Morogh for an impromptu dance party when I had to log last night, and I had made room in my stables to tame Mangeclaw (she'll be named Neige) while we were there. I'll be making the trek out there soon. :)

Nice, If you wait till i get 20 (maybe 1 or 2 days) i'll come too! Oh wow i just looked up Mangeclaw, I'll settle for him if Bjarn isnt spawned... but it might not be the same.

Sure I'll wait. I'm sure we can find others who'll come along when you're ready to go. :) I always consider Mangeclaw tames a feat at lower levels because of the knockback (he was hell when I tamed him at level 11!!), but yeah, once you have ice trap the only bragging right you have is that you went to Dun Morogh.

*nodnod* That does happen, unfortunately. Went through that myself. I'm glad you've returned to it! :D

Me too. Although in spite of it going very well the other night, I do hope to be able to connive convince guildies to come along rather than pugging dungeons... I still have some of that pug-terror in my bones. :?

If I'm in a group with you and we wipe due to bad tanking, i'm ok with it as long as its comical in some sort (IE left auto run on and ran into the boss)

So I'm allowed to cause a wipe due to bad tanking if it's because I autorun off a cliff, but if I cause a wipe due to bad tanking because I can't hold aggro... you'll flounce? I'm ad-libbing that last part. ;)

I have a funny story about that....involving a tree and Anub'arak in ToC....

His comp crashed. D:

We still give him crap for it, though. ;)
