It seems beetles finally got an ability but I'm quite dissapointed it's just shell
shield...for beetles. I was expecting something a little different like maybe a stun or something maybe a poison seeing as it sometimes attacks with a stinger in
it's back

I saw this coming. It made sense since it's a tanking pet. Definitely a shame, though.

Yay! Shell Shield on something that isn't a turtle!

I'll probably be in the minority here, but I'm glad beetles got this ability. This way, if I want a really strong and durable pet for tanking, I'm not limited to a turtle model. Some people love their turtles, but I'm just not a huge fan. I'd rather have an indestructible scarab with a sweet color pattern.

Ancient Fire Turtle wants a word with you!

LOL!

You can keep him! He's amazing and I love his look, but I don't think he'd ever bond with my hunter. The fire theme just doesn't fit. Tanin loves his bugs.

Now, if I had a goblin hunter...

I'm very happy about this change, a nice solo tanking pet other than a turtle. I predicted it and put a suggestion in for it so this is great. =)
Annoys me how most bug type pets have only pvp special abilities.
Can't wait to tame my beetle tank for soloing

I like both turtles and beetles - I was one of the ppl who pushed for beetles to be made tamable back in the original hunter suggestions thread. And I don't need every pet spell to be unique - sometimes it's nice to be able to get a certain spell without being forced to choose the same pet.

Thanks to this...I think the only unique non-exotic ability is that Blind monkeys have...I could be wrong.

I've already got a color and a rough name picked out for my beetle. He'll be either Pershing or Sheridan, whichever name ends up fitting him best. Cookies to anyone that gets the reference(s).

Bah. Defensive tanks. Worms make too awesome of a tank for me to use something else. Since they got Burrow I've been able to solo ZG since the mobs aren't too big for us to handle anymore, heck the more mobs that I gather the faster I get the place done. :D

Never saw much use in a defensive shield because of my playstyle. I spent too much time in and out of dungeons to use a tank pet until I started farming material in Outland or questing in Northrend (Then I had plenty of time between dungeons to have use for a tank pet, lol.)

Yes, it does make sense nowadays for a BM hunter to use a worm for tenacity, doesn't it? Reminds me a tad of back when A) only gorillas had thunderstomp and B) they went ahead and buffed TS damage (e.g. back when the term "Gorilladin" was invented), and playing a non-gorilla was more a matter of "I'd rather be original than optimal, dangit!" :P
