So far there are only 2 recorded mobs that use the new purple crocodile model in Cataclysm.

One is Lockmaw, a level 87 elite boss. Untameable no matter what due to the level.

The second is Gorebite, a level 83 mob that is apparently spawned during a quest.

I haven't been able to find much info on Gorebite, and he's the one that is holding my interest. The location he appears at is called the Pit of Scales, a small pool in the south of Uldum. I heard he might possibly be part of an event-type chain like the Ring of Blood, but he also could just be a regular mob that spawns as part of a quest.

In any case, you have to do a chain in order to get the quest that summons him, and that's where I've been stuck. I'd love to get up to that point in the beta so that I can summon and check him, but I can't find any information. The last news we heard was that he was marked as a humanoid, and it's been many patches since then.

Does anyone have any information on the mob itself or possibly info on how to get to his quest? Thanks!

I can do the chain to get to that point, but it'll take a little bit and I wanna check on Hayoc and Arash-ethis first.. ;_;

That would be wonderful! Absolutely no rush, just whenever you get a chance would be great. I'm dying to hear an update on him. x)


I did find that quest on WoWhead before Wain, but there isn't one available to me in game. I have a feeling I have to go back and do other quests chains to open up that one or something. ><

He was moved to the east side of Feralas, the last I heard. Unless you're trying to tame him.

Aw damn... I just finished that chain yesterday and didn't think to check it if was tameable. It's not a ring of blood quest, just a gladiator-type event near the end of a pretty long chain.

Nah, I'm just.. as soon as I check this croc, checking -every- named beast in the game to see if their skins changed. 8D;

If you want him, I can drop the quest and do it when you manage to be on?
